Chapter 35

11th of December

The whole week passed by in what felt like a second. It was so fast because I was so busy for the upcoming wedding. I even had to take a leave for two days before the wedding's official date. Thankfully, the CEO, who can no longer help with the preparations, was my fiance.

Saturday, 11th of December, was the date that we decided to go for. It was the only day that everyone and everything is available. It's not like we're a real couple that wants the 'perfect' date for our wedding, so we didn't really mind.

The day after the wedding, I took the second leave because we still need to travel to the venue. Tita Aurora told us that a beach wedding is a good choice. Just like how Andre and I don't care, we just went with Tita's idea.

Nakarating na ako sa lugar kasama sina Jade, Nica, at ang aking nanay. I didn't bring that much people with me since I don't have that much friends. Hindi rin ako gaanong kalapit sa aming mga kamag-anak at ang iba ko namang mga nakakausap ay hindi makakapunta. Mayroong iilan, ngunit bilang na bilang lamang.

We stayed at a nearby hotel by the beach. My mother already booked two big rooms for us. Magkasama sa kuwarto sina Nica at Jade, habang ako naman ay sasamahan ng aking nanay.

Dala-dala ang maraming maleta at bag ay pumasok kami sa loob ng hotel. We were immediately accomodated by the bell boys. "Grabe, ang ganda rito, Maia!" rinig kong sabi ni Jade habang palingon-lingon sa buong paligid.

I raised my hand up to my forehead as I felt slight pain on my temple. I bowed my head as I slowly closed my eyes. Medyo sumakit ang aking ulo sa byahe. It took us more than five hours just to arrive here. Maybe it's also because of the pregnancy, but my head really hurts.

"You haven't even seen the whole beach yet," mahina kong sagot kay Jade. Sabay-sabay kaming pumasok ng elevator.

"But, still! Have you seen the view outside? Kahit unahan lang 'yon ng beach, ang ganda na agad! Paano kung sa pinaka-beach na talaga tayo?" tuwang-tuwa nitong sagot.

"Jade, calm down. Masakit ata ulo ni Maia..." Nica trailed off as she caressed the side of my arm.

Nang makarating sa floor ng aming kuwarto ay agad kaming nagsipasukan na. Jade and Nica helped Mom and I with our baggages since ako ang maraming dalang gamit.

"Okay ka nang iwan, Maia?" mahinang tanong ni Jade nang ilapag niya ang isang backpack sa couch. I nodded at her as I gave her a small smile.

"Thank you, guys," I whispered.

"Pahinga ka na muna, Maia. You need to look fresh for tomorrow's event," kalmadong utos ni Nica.

They already left after that. Dumiretso naman ako sa kama upang magpahinga. I didn't even care if I smell or anything. My head just really hurts, as well as my body which is very tired from the long ride.

Bago pa ako makatulog nang tuluyan ay nakatanggap muna ako ng tawag mula kah Andre. With closed eyes, I answered his call as I placed the phone near my ear. "How was the trip?" bungad nito.

I moaned as I slowly shook my head to the side. "My head hurts..." mahina kong angal.

I heard him chuckle from the other line. "It does? Then, you should take a rest already."

"Yeah, yeah. That's what I was planning to do before you called," nanghihina kong sagot.

"Hmm... okay, then. Have a good rest, Imogen," sagot nito at saka ko binabaan ng tawag. I immediately slept after that.
