You Did

I watched as the gold ring roll on the cold floor as I heard the door of my condo closed. My tears slowly fell on its own as my body slid down on the floor. I reached for the gold ring on the floor as I tightly held onto it. I closed my hands into a fist and leaned my head on my hands.

I never wanted to end it like this. I know that I've already hurt him the last time that I broke up with him, but this mess is nothing compared to how I broke up with him a week ago. He must've felt betrayed, thinking that his wife cheated with one of his friends.

But, I didn't... I did not cheat on him. I would never cheat on anyone. I was so careful with my actions even though I am already wasted because I still respect him. I know that he still doesn't know about our invalid marriage, that's why I was so careful to not disrespect him. Even so, even if he knows about our invalid wedding, I would never cheat on him. I would never hurt him that much.

Napaupo na lamang ako sa sahig ng salas habang patuloy ang pagtulo ng luha mula sa aking mga mata.

Why did Kurt do that? H-He's a friend of Andre... Why would he do that to his friend's wife? I didn't know that Kurt had a hidden desire to do that. Has he always hated Andre? That's why he wanted to make him feel like shit? Bakit kailangan ako pa? Why would he use me to hurt Andre? Why? He can do it in another way and not like this...

My body flinched when I suddenly heard my phone that was placed on the couch rang. Agad akong napatingin dito at nakita ang caller ID ni Jade. I reached for my phone, the gold ring still in my hands, and immediately answered it.

"Maia! Is everything okay?" nag-aalala nitong bati.

I slowly shook my head to the side as I wiped my tears with the back of my palm. "Jade..." I sobbed.

"Maia, we heard everything from Jaydee... Pumunta dito si Kurt ng may pasa sa mukha..." dagdag nito.

My brows furrowed upon hearing Jade's words. Kurt had a bruise? But, Andre's fist never hit him... Did Andre beat him when they were out of my condo? "W-what? Andre never hit him..." naguguluhan kong tanong dito.

"No, not Andre. Hugh hit him. Andre immediately went back here. Nakasalubong sila ni Hugh dahil dumating din siya. Nakarating pa pabalik si Kurt dito sa bar nang sinugod siya ni Hugh," pagpapaliwanag ni Jade.

"W-what happened? Is Hugh hurt?" nag-aalala kong tanong.

"No. Hindi na muling lumaban pa si Kurt," sagot nito. "Hindi na kami magkakasama. I'm driving Jake home. Naghiwa-hiwalay na kami kanina nang magkagulo yung dalawa," dagdag pa nito.

I stayed silent, not knowing what to reply to Jade. I didn't expect for Hugh to do that. He really does know what is right and wrong and wouldn't even think twice to punish whoever is in the wrong.

"Maia, what happened? Si Andre, mukhang namatayan sa sobrang lungkot ng mga mata kanina. Hugh was fuming mad, while Kurt was just silent," tanong nito.

I shook my head to the side as I placed my forehead on top of my palm. "I-it's complicated, Jade..." I trailed off.

"Okay. Are you fine though? Are you okay? Walang gumalaw sa'yo?" tanong nito.

"No, no. I'm fine. Thank you for your concern."

Ibinaba na ni Jade ang tawag dahil iuuwi pa rin niya si Jake at lasing na lasing daw.

I let out a loud sigh as I slowly stood up from my seat. I need to give Andre my explanation. I don't want him to hurt that much. He doesn't deserve it...
