I don't think my hearing is right.
It can't be. I have to be hearing things wrong because there's no way those words just came out of Luke's lips.
He did not just tell me that I'm moving in with him.
"I— what?" I stutter out, asking for him to say it again and hear the thing he really said this time.
Because there is just no fucking way that he just—
"I said that you're moving in with me, Evelyn."
Well, I'll be damned.
"I am?" I ask as my jaw slacks and my eyes are wide with confusing thoughts lingering around in my mind.
I feel the room is spinning as I don't know what to think or what to question first. It feels like the day just went from zero to a hundred in a split second and left me back in the dust.
"Yes, starting tonight, so go pack a bag. Tomorrow we'll come by and get the rest of your things and-"
"Woah, woah, woah. Slow down— Do I even get a say in this?" I ask as my hands wave around me like a crazy person, but I could care less how I look right now.
"I'm sorry, Ev, but you don't have much of a choice. Whoever broke in could easily do it again, and I'm not taking a fucking chance on that happening," Luke's voice is much calmer compared to mine, seeming like he's not phased in the slightest of what he just told me.
"But Luke this isn't some simple decision, I mean we'd be living together," I pause as my head tries to think of the best way for him to see why I'm freaking out about this. "We've only known each other for around two months! This morning was the first time we said what we are to each other, and now you're telling me we're gonna be living together?"
