The next day at school, I was antsy for some reason. I could barely focus in school and every little sound made me jump. When I made it to lunch, Peter looked at me carefully.

"Are you alright Jane?" Peter asks, and I'm too in my head to answer.

"Jane. Please talk to me. I was worried about you yesterday." Peter says, finally snapping me out of it.

"I'm fine. Just tired." I answered.

"She's probably scared the murderer is going to get her." I heard a voice laugh, what was said causing me to freeze and quickly look up at Flash.

"What? What do you mean?" I say quickly, grabbing his arm. He jolts back in shock, trying to yank away but I hold tight.

"Hey what the hell? Just look at the news. This murderer guy escaped prison and came to New York." Flash said, finally yanking away with a scoff. I quickly took out my phone and skimmed articles

'Dangerous criminal loose in New York.'

'Stay off the streets. A criminal escaped Jail'

    "Hey Jane, are you ok?"

    'Yesterday, a dangerous criminal escaped'

"Jane? Jane!?" I was snapped out of my reading to see Peter and Ned looking at me worried.

"Everything ok?" Peter asks, his eyes concerned at my once again rapid breathing.

"Y-yeah, sorry. It's nothing." I lied, trying to reason with myself. Gordon never called me again so it was probably fine. The rest of the day went in a blur until I was walking home. Peter and Ned tried to talk to me the rest of the day but I didn't ever answer other than an 'I'm fine' or 'bye'. When I finally made it to my apartment door, I choked back a sob. The door looked banged open, hanging off its hinges. What I could see from the inside was a mess of tossed furniture and broken pictures. I took a step back, holding a hand over my mouth. Another step. Then I ran. Ran down the stairs, onto the street, and through the crowds. I didn't know where I was going, caught up in panic, but I snapped out of it when I heard a ding. Looking around I see I'm in an elevator, the Avengers elevator to be precise. I faintly wondered why I came here but when the doors opened I ran in panicked.

"Jane!? What are you doing here?" I heard Peter say and I jumped to face him. In front of me were the Avengers, all staring at me in concern and shock.

    "I-I well. I can't. Can I stay here?" I finally ask.

"Of course." Steve said, "What happened?"

"Please, I can't, I. I have to make another call." I stutter out, pulling out my phone in a blind panic. On the screen read five missed calls from Gordon and twelve messages. I quickly clicked one and put my phone to the ear.

"Hello? Alex?" I hear Gordons voice, and break down. Falling to the floor in sobs. I faintly hear the Avengers stand in panic.

"G-Gordon, help. My house, the door. Him, please!" I sob out, shaking horribly.

"Where are you, Alex? Are you in a safe, secure location? Are you around people?" Gordon sharply says, panic in his voice.

"Y-Yes. Please, who? Gordon." I sob out, trying to calm down, but unable to.

"Can you put your phone on speaker so I know who is in the room? It's important Alex." I nodded, unable to speak, and shakily put the phone on speaker.

"Hello, someone in the room please come introduce themselves." Gordon says from the speaker. Steve walks forward slowly.

"Hello? My name is Steve Rogers. Is Jane ok?"
