Season 3 - Episode 9: Looking for Them

"Alright, Y/N. What do you know?"

You opened up some footage on your laptop that projected onto the TV in the front of the meeting room. Everyone in the meeting room turned their attention towards the TV.

You sighed, slightly nervous to speak infront of the people in the room. Jayden put his hand on your shoulder gently. You looked to him, seeing his reassuring and gentle smile. You smiled back at him before looking away.

"Alright, so. According to the footage, the main guy in the mask says that Thomas and Walter will be meeting up with a few people at a nightclub in Hollywood." You explained to everyone as you showed them the footage as well as which nightclub you were talking about.

"Do you have a plan on what we should do, Detective?" You asked Jayden with a small smile, earning a nod from him.

"The plan is for me and Shaun to go undercover in the club. We look for the Howards' and stop them before they do something even worse. Then we bring them in. Back up will be ready if anything goes sideways." Jayden explained to everyone.

"What do I get to do?.." You piped up, making everyone look to you. Jayden sighed, "I don't think you really should be doing anything.." He explained.

You groaned, "Seriously? I didn't come here for nothing!" You complained. "Y/N, We can't afford to lose you." Jayden continued. "Plus, we need you to do something else.." He added. You looked to him, crossing your arms.

"Fine." You rolled your eyes, looking away. Jayden sighed and turned back to everyone else.

"Anyways, let's begin to prepare. You are all dismissed."

You were working in your little corner office before someone walked over.

"You're still up?" Shaun asked, walking over to you. You looked up at him from your work, "Well, I have a lot of work to do." You shrugged.

"Are you sure you're not giving yourself more work?" Shaun questioned. "Maybe..." You responded as you looked back at your work, making the other detective chuckle. He stood there in silence for a moment before speaking up.

"So... What's going on between you and Jayden?" Shaun asked. You felt your face heat up a lot. You looked over and saw Shaun, wiggling his eyebrows and smirking jokingly. "Nothing is going on.." You denied, hiding your flustered face secretly.

"Are you sure? I mean the way you look at each other is... not normal... for friendships? I don't know how to explain it." Shaun sighed, looking down.

"I don't think it should be explained, there's nothing different about me and Jayden's platonic relationship." You looked to Shaun, shooting a small death glare at him.

"No, no, no, there is definitely something about your relationship with him!" Shaun pointed out.

"And I apologise for quoting a song but, friends don't look at friends that way." He continued. You sighed.

"Like, are you both secretly dating and pretending to only have feelings for each other so you can hide your relationship?" Shaun questioned you, making you look up at him, flustered.

"Wait, Jayden still likes me?" You asked. "Well- yeah.." Shaun realised what he said and covered his mouth.

"Shit- I wasn't supposed to tell you that." He admitted, making you chuckle and shake your head.

"It's fine. It's good to know we have mutual.. feelings.." You looked down, blushing. Shaun's expression lit up in excitement as he turned to you. "You like him back?" Shaun asked excitedly, earning a small nervous nod from you.

"Oh my gosh- When are you gonna tell him?!" He asked you in his excited tone. "When we're both ready to know." You smile.

"Okay. But I think you should tell him now." Shaun responded. You sighed, "Look, Shaun. Jayden and I aren't ready to know about our feelings for each other yet." You explained, "We're just waiting for the right time."

"And when's that?" Shaun questioned. You sighed, "I don't know" you admitted,

"But it should be soon..."
