Ben was walking home from school, lost in his thoughts.
"Hey B."
Pico came up though Ben wasn't paying attention because he was too busy thinking until Pico poked his cheek.
"H-huh?"
Pico waved chuckling.
"S-sorry I was thinking."
"It's cool, wanna hang out?"
"I can't today, kinda busy."
"Ok how about tomorrow?"
"Busy."
"When are you available?"
"I don't know, between studying and- nevermind."
"You shouldn't over work your self, Softie."
Ben looked down hiding his cherry blossom cheeks, he liked when Pico would say comforting things to him.
Picos smile turned into a face full of concern.
"Hey Softie... what's that on your neck?"
Ben stopped walking out of fear thinking Pico might find out what goes on at home.
"Softie are you ok-"
"I-I gotta go s-see you later."
Ben ran off teary eyed, leaving Pico there worried.

Ben POV
I walked in my room closing the door and threw my stuff on the bed and sat down. "I hope he doesn't bring it up again..." "Benjamin come down here." It was my mom calling me, I got up and made my way downstairs even though I didn't want to. "There's my sweet baby, how was school?" "It was good." I wanted to ask if I could take a break from studying and... Well the other stuff and hang out with Pico. "C-Can I go hangout with a friend?" "Grace?" I shook my head "When did you make another friend?" "Um w-well-" "No you need to study for that upcoming exam and practice your singing." "Please I'll do it later-" "Benjamin Aaron Fairest!" I flinched and turned around seeing my dad. "Don't talk back to your mother, you will go study and practice your singing or else." "I-Im sorry..." "Go to your room." Mom said with a furious look, I walked back up the stairs not looking back and went to my room closing the door. I went to my desk and pulled out my notebooks studying for the exam, I noticed the paper got a little wet. "Huh?" Another spot was made on the paper, I felt tears running down my face. I tried to stop it but they just kept going, I moved the notebook and put my head on the desk bawling my eyes out.

Ben cried himself to sleep, but soon woke up because he heard a knock on his window. Ben opened the shades finding Pico, he opened the window so he could come in.

"Pico what are you doing here?"
"I wanted to check on you."
Ben started getting nervous, he knew Pico was gonna keep asking about his neck. He avoided Picos gaze.
"Ben...is something going on at home besides what you told me?"
Ben looked down at the floor and closed his eyes scared to tell him.

Flashback to earlier

Pico POV
Softie ran off crying a little. That mark, is something going on at his house? I know it's none of my business but he's my friend and I care about him... I'll go check on him later.

Back to the present

"Blue look at me."
Ben looked up at Pico like he asked, Pico pulled down his bandana revealing a warm smile. He got closer to Ben and put his hands on his shoulders.
"It's ok if you don't wanna tell me but whenever you want to talk I'm here ok?"
Bens face heated up and he started tearing up, Pico hugged Ben still keeping his smile. After a few minutes they sat down on his bed.
"I'll show you, but promise you won't hurt them..."
Pico thought about it for a minute.
"I promise."
Ben turned red and proceeded to take his hoodie off. He was about to take his shirt off but he looked over at Pico who was crimson red.
"Ah I'm sorry!" Pico said flustered.
Bens whole face was red.
"It's fine..." Ben slowly took his shirt off, Picos eyes widened as he took it off.
"Ben... You have to tell someone."
"I-I can't!"
"This isn't ok, what those bastards are doing to you is wrong!"
"It's my fault...I can't do anything right or I talk back and it results in punishment..."
"Do you hear yourself?! None of this is your fault!"
"It is! I-"
"Their abusing you Ben-"
"I CAN'T DO A DAMN THING ABOUT, IF THEY FOUND OUT I TOLD ANYONE WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY WOULD DO TO ME! I HESITATED TELLING YOU BECAUSE I WAS SCARED! SCARED- of what they would do to me..."
Pico got shocked Ben started yelling as he never heard him yell or get mad before. Pico hugged Ben again, Ben started sobbing in his hoodie. Pico teared up a bit saddened by Bens despair, (I didn't make a Danganronpa reference) his urge to protect Ben increased also their bond.

They heard the front door open. Ben looked up at Pico with fear and led him to the window.

"You have to hurry."
Pico was about to climb out the window but turned back to Ben worried.
"I'll be fine." Ben smiled and held Picos hand to reassure him. Before he went out the window he gave him one final hug. He let go and pat Bens head "I'll be fine really, you should hurry." Pico went out the window and down the tree avoiding the windows, he headed home. On the way he saw posters about Frank Fairests concerts, "Fuck you." Pico sprayed the posters and kept walking thinking about the promise he made to Ben, "Thats gonna be hard B."
