When You Least Expect It

Its Not Twins

Andrew, Iris and I are currently in LA for press and the premiere of The Amazing Spiderman 3 which we are currently getting ready for which is much more difficult with a almost two year old who's now walking and talking but we're taking turns watching her whilst we get ready. She's coming with us tonight which could be an absolute disaster but we wanted her to have this experience even though she probably won't remember it.

We walk the carpet as a family for the first time and these photos will probably be some of my favourites of ours I'm sure. Andrew has Iris whilst we're both talking to some press "Congratulations on baby no.2" she says "Thank you before you ask its not twins we checked"  I say "You've brought your daughter Iris with you tonight her red carpet debut" she says "Yes she's probably running rings around Andrew now she can walk and talk back we were very private in the beginning of our lives and relationship but we realized we can't hide and we want Iris to see what her parents do" I say "You mentioned her talking is she after you or Andrew in the accent department" she says "I don't know she's surrounded by English people but obviously she mainly interacts with Andrew and I so she's kinda blending our two accents together. But when we were filming this Andrew was in character as Peter the entire time so she was more American so she was a little confused when he stopped" I say "In this movie we see Peter and MJ as parents something we haven't seen before and you had hinted at this before the No Way Home release and your own daughter is playing the child in this film" she says "I did hint this when we were adamantly denying our involvement in that movie and I imagined a boy and that was considered and the possibility of the child having inherited Peter's abilities which we hint at a little but Andrew and I knew if we were to have a kid on screen it had to be our own and she was so little back then and now she's almost two and it's something we can share with her when she's older and if she decides to pursue this career path in the future she'd have a pretty impressive first role on her resume" I say "What's next for you and Andrew besides baby no.2" she says "I'm gonna be returning to the stage as is Andrew so we're looking forward to that and we're just gonna be parents and continue to grow our little family who knows maybe twins are next" I say as Iris comes running up to me and I scoop her up "Mama" she says and Andrew appears a moment later "She managed to sneak away" he says "Its okay mama was missing cuddles anyway we should probably head inside" I say "Probably let's go troublemaker and remember best behaviour and papa will read your favourite story tonight" he says and we head inside as a family.

We're going on the James Corden show and Iris is with my sister Willow whilst we go tape the show "My next guests separate are both incredible actors and together they are one of Hollywood's favourite couples please welcome Sage Hughes and Andrew Garfield" he says and we come out together and hug James and sit down "Hi how are you guys it's been awhile" he says "We're good. We've missed you" Andrew says "Since we last spoke you became parents and are expecting your second. Congratulations" he says "Yeah we've got a little bump going on" I say showing it off "You were pregnant last time Andrew was on the show and he said nothing" he says "We spent months denying the No Way Home rumors we were pretty much pros at lying by that point" Andrew says "You told Andrew you were pregnant with Iris through a letter. How did you tell him about baby no.2" he says "He was there when I took the test last time he wasn't and I was already a couple of weeks along but this time we'd been trying and I woke up one morning and it sounds kinda weird but I had this feeling that I was pregnant  and this was like 6am Iris was still asleep and I woke Andrew up and we took the test and I was pregnant and I was only like two weeks at that point" I say "I cried again just like the first time we both did" Andrew says "Any predictions for baby no.2?" he asks "We're both saying boy don't know why must be those spidey senses or something" I say "Was your brother concerned when he found out he was gonna be an uncle considering his name and the fate of Uncle Ben's in the Spiderman films" he says "We've seen that alot but I don't think it means anything but people always have theories around these things" Andrew says "Speaking of theories this movie features Iris your daughter as Peter and MJs daughter who shows signs of somehow inherting Spiderman abilities teasing a future as Spiderwoman how do you feel about that" he says "I think it confused some people her getting Peter's powers because unlike Tobey who produces the webs themselves Andrew's Peter has web shooters but has the Spidey sense can crawl on ceilings etc which we see with their kid and if they had their daughter be canon for Spiderwoman that would be amazing but we'll have to wait and see" I say. We talk a little more about the movie and then we head back to the hotel a have a chilled family night.

We're back home and we've spent the last few weeks organising Iris's birthday party and my entire family have flown in for it. I've become one of those mom's who does really over the top themed birthdays and I'm don't hate that. Iris's birthday is a space themed birthday and we have some friends from her preschool aswell as my own nieces and nephews and some of our other friends kids and its kinda chaotic but it's the best kind of chaos.
