Kaycee's POV

I sat here nervous in the booth of a slightly dimmed restaurant awaiting the arrival of my date. Yes, I said my date. Bailey and Tahani thought it'd be a good idea for me to go on a date because "I don't get out of the house."

I didn't even know who the guy was. I mean, I trust them to leave me with a reasonable fellow who isn't disrespectful or a potential deadbeat. On top of that, I was nervous as heck. I haven't been on a date in 4 years. I wasn't even interested in getting myself out there yet here I was.

My sweaty hands slid down my green chiffon dress. I pulled out a book I was reading to entertain myself in the meantime. However, I didn't get far into the chapter as I felt a body standing in front of me. I slowly looked up to see a man dressed in black dress pants, a white dress shirt, and black shoes. He had asian roots and neat hair that hung over his eyes.

"Good evening, beautiful. I'm Sean. I'll be your waiter for tonight. Can I start you off with a drink?" He spoke with a gentle but mature voice. something about his soothing voice sent shivers down my spine. not to mention he was the most attractive man I'd ever seen.

"I should probably wait for my date." I said softly. Sean chuckled, his smile widening. "I'm sure your date wouldn't want a woman like you dying of thirst." He insisted. I couldn't help but smile at his words.

"I suppose you're right. May I have a glass of water?" I asked nicely.

"Of course. Let me know when you're ready to order." Sean stated with a smile before excusing himself. Suddenly, the book wasn't entertaining enough. I just watched Sean's body as it disappeared behind the kitchen doors. I decided to stop being a stalker and text bailey.

me
Hey, bails! I was wondering if you heard anything from the guy you're setting me up with? I've been sitting here for almost half an hour.

bails💕
What? Let me call him. This is ridiculous🙄

me
Okay.

Right when I put my phone down, Sean reappeared at my table. "Here you go. A chilled glass of water. Are you ready to order at all? Can I start you with an appetizer?" He asked, placing my glass down. I felt my phone vibrate on my lap as I was about to answer.

I looked down to see a text from Bailey. After speed reading, I saw that my date was not coming. This is my problem with dating. it gets your hopes up only for them to come and shatter it all. "Is everything okay?" That's when I remembered that Sean was staring at me, waiting for my answer.

"Um, yeah. I just...don't know what to order." I lied with a faux smile. Something in me told me that Sean picked up on it. "Would you tell me any recommendations? I've never been here before." Sean's face immediately lit up before he sat down across from me.

"Well, most importantly, are you allergic to anything? And is there any certain food that you don't like?" He asked, folding his hands together. I giggled at his excitement. "No and no." I responded. He then went into explaining all of his favorite dishes, passion beaming in his chocolate orbs.

"So which one do you want?" He asked. This is where indecisive Kaycee kicked in. "You know what? Surprise me. I'm going to trust you." I said, causing him to grin happily. His smile lit up the room. There was something genuine yet unusual about him that I couldn't put my finger on.

"With everything?" He asked, a smile being held back on his face. I nodded. "Entree and all. Sky's the limit."

"Won't let you down, beautiful." Sean said before walking away and disappearing behind the kitchen doors once again. I took this time to text Bailey a quick reply before pulling out the book once again. After about 20 minutes, I felt a body hovering over me once again. I looked up to see a blonde woman holding a plate on a tray. I must say, she's quite pretty.
