❃ Accident

Author's POV

The heavy steps of janvi followed down to the living room as she climbed down the staircase carefully holding the grill. "Maa! Papa!" She voiced out smiling cheekily seeing her parents after so many days. Saransh glared at her and walked nearer holding her palm amd one arm wrapped on the shoulder.

"Maine mana kiya hain na akele aane ke liye. Maa, papa aa hi rahe the na!" She made puppy eyes apologizing to him.

"Main khud ko rok hi nahi paayi sabki awaj sun kar." She said earning a nod from him. "Aram aram se chalo, pata hain na kal kaise girne wali thi." She nodded and grabbed his palm tightly.

"Kaisi hain meri bacchi! How is your and my grandchild's health?" Tarun asked and pecked on his daughter's forehead same did by raghini.

"Main aur baby dono aache hain. Aap log kaise hain." They told about their whereabouts and everyone sat on the couches. Naira left to make tea for everyone asking her mother to take some rest.

"Janvi toh thik lag rahi hain lekin humare DCP sahab kuch thake thake se lag rahe hain. Sab thik hain na aapka!" Vaibhav sat beside his brother in law patting on his back.

"At last kisine mere baare mein pucha. Aap akele ho jiju jo meri fikr karte ho nahi toh mere mom-dad ne toh mujhe phele hi daan kar diya hain!" Saransh bite his lower lip glancing at his parents who glared back at him. From his side janvi slapped on his arm.
"Kyu jhut bol rahe ho! Maa-papa aaj kal tumhara kitna dhyaan rakh rahe hain. Kyu hamesha unko chidhate rehete ho!"

"Kaisi aurat hain, apne pati parmeshwar ko sabke saamne aise mara, dekh rahi hain raghini maa, aapki beti kitni bigad gayi hain." He sat beside his mother in law. Janvi puffed her cheeks turning her face away from him as everyone chuckled but saransh's face lost it's colours.

Walking near her saransh sat beside her but she sided away her face. "Jaaaaannn!"

"Ohh hoo! Jaan!" Everyone teased them repeating saransh's word. Janvi's face converted into red as she covered it with her palms. Saransh wrapped his arms around her pecking a kiss on her hairs while their parents admired their beautiful bond.

"Kisiki nazar na lage!" Pallavi and raghini whispered on same time sharing a soft giggle with happy tears in their eyes.

"Saransh, beta janvi ko lekar upar jao usse jyada der aise baithe rehena thik nahi hain. Hum tab tak kalke programme ke baare mein discuss kar lete hain."

"Kal ka programme? Kal kya hain? Kuch special hain kya?" Saransh asked confusingly as janvi and all others snapped thier heads at him. But then she realized that he was still unaware.

"Kal baby shower hain mera. Main batana bhul gayi thi, maa ne mujhe parson hi bataya." He smiled hearing about this.
"Baby shower! Isska matlab ab baby jald hi aane wala hain. I remember, baby shower ke 15 days baad hi riya ka birth hua tha. Isska matlab humara baby bhi ab aane ko hain." He excitedly uttered but in returns got a smack on his head by his sister.

"Kabhi kabhi lagta hain meri riya tujhse badi hain."

"Tameez se miss batameez! Bhuliye mat Deputy Commissioner se baat kar rahi hain aap!" He straightened up his collars but naira caught his ear in her fingers.

"Dad! Apni beti ko batayiye. Mom, dekhiye na inko!"

"Kyu chodu, DCP hoga bahar walo ke liye mere liye mera bewakoof bhai hi hain! Aur aisa kahi likha nahi hain ki baby shower ke baad baby ho, riya date se phele paida hui hain."

"Haa aapki beti hain aapke jaisi hi hogi na utawli! Time se phele aa gayi!" Janvi chuckled at his murmuring which he stopped by glaring or else naira will tease him more by anything.
"Devi ji ab mujhe chod dijiye, aapne ghyaan ke moti baad mein batna." She left his ear and sat on the couch.
