The Montreal Canadiens have traded forward Tyler Toffoli to the Calgary Flames. Th exchange includes Tyler Potluck and. Emil Heineman. Montreal also received a first round pick in the 2022 draft and a fifth round pick in the 2023 draft.
Toffoli, 29, will be reunited with coach Darryl Sutter who he played for when he helped the Kings win the Stanley Cup in 2014.
The Canadiens are not only last in their division they are also dead last in the entire league with just 23 points after coming off their cup run just last season. The Flames are 2nd in the Pacific division with 58 points.
Obviously with a trade the 29 year old forward has a chance of making the playoffs. Toffoli is a very diverse player, he scores goals from everywhere on the ice, blocks shots, and can kill penalties.
