Rose pov

"ROSALINE ANNE SHELBY"

Oh no. As I heard Tommy's voice echo across the fields, I immediately knew I was as good as dead. I was in uncle charlies barn with the horses when I heard my name called. More specifically yelled. My eyes widened as i slowly crept out of the barn only to come face to face with the person I was planning on running from.

"Hey Tommy. How are u?" I asked with a smile on my face. He wasn't amused. Without a word, Tommy grabbed hold of my upper arm and dragged me to where finn, polly and Michael were standing. I shook Tommy off and ran into the arms of finn

"FINNY. Help me. Tommy's gonna kill me" I begged him. He chuckled but still held me close for protection.

"Don't make me seem like the bad guy in all this young lady. You're the one who stabbed a fucking teacher for giving you homework" Tommy said

"That's not why I stabbed her tom" I said. He looked at me to continue

"I stabbed her because she gave us homework and then told me i would get detention if I set it on fire. Anyway, I'm not an amateur. I know where to stab someone if I want them to live. I just avoided any vital organs. She'll live"

"That is no excuse. You are grounded until further notice. Now get in the fucking car" polly said. We all got in the car but I stayed on Finns knee out of pure fear. 

"Can we get ice cream?" I asked. I chorus of "no" echoed through the car.

"But Tommy. Aren't you even the least bit proud?" I asked

"No. I'm not" he grumbled

"Arthur and John were proud weren't they. That's why they aren't here int it?" I asked. No one answered so I knew I was right

"Thought as much" I said

"Will you keep quiet. Ya never stop talking" Michael complained

"Blah blah blah blah blah. Bladi blah. Blah blah. Bladi blah blah blah" I said as I looked at him straight in the eyes, piercing his soul.

"ROSE" Tommy yelled in frustration

"Ugh. But I'm BORED!!!" I complained

"And I've got a headache from listening to you" Michael said

"Ay. Shove off" finn said

"Tell her to shut up then" Michael grumbled. Anger was coming out of Finns ears as he swung to punch Michael but Tommy slammed the car on making us jolt forward

"Right. You 3 out. You can walk back" polly said

"But-"

"No buts. Out" Tommy said

"We will fucking freeze" finn complained. They didn't answer so we were all forced out of the car. When they drove off and out of sight, none of us moved

"I can't believe that just happened!" I said staring at where the car once was

"Have they got no regard for our health?" Michael asked to no one in particular. It was still a 10 minute walk before we would be back home so we started to walk. After 30 seconds I stopped. The others noticed I wasn't next to them so turned around

"Come one rose" Michael said.

"Carry me pretty please with a cherry ontop" I begged as I lifted my arms lazily. Michael rolled his eyes and put his hands on his hips

"You're too old" he said just as finn walked over to lift me up. I gave Michael a smug smile

"Finn. She is 7. She doesn't need carrying anywhere" he said

"She's the shelby fucking angel. Now i suggest you watch your fucking mouth before I cut ya" finn threatened. He stormed off and we ended up leaving Michael there as finn basically ran home.

"I don't wanna go home" I said with a sad face. We were sure to be in trouble at home

"Me neither love. Let's go pub instead" he declared as he walked in the direction of the garrison owned by our eldest brother. When we walked in, I saw John and Arthur sat drinking and laughing very clearly drunk. Finn put me down so I ran over to them

"Ay. There she is. Girl of the day. So how'd ya do it? Stab the teacher. Where was it?" Arthur asked proud of me

"Girl of the day? Ya joking. We just got kicked out the fucking car" I said as I scrunched up my eyebrows in anger

"By who?" John asked

"Tommy and polly. Michael was kicked out too but I had to leave him before I ended up killing him" finn said as he sat down and placed me on his lap

"Understandable" John agreed as we all nodded. As we talked for a few more hours, my 3 brothers were hammered. Now was my opportunity

"Can I have a drink?" I asked them all

"You, my darling, can have whatever you like" Arthur said loudly in his 'I'm drunk and want the world to know' voice. I smiled as he stumbled up and came back with bottles and bottles of whiskey.

After a long time of drinking, we walked back home. Me being carried on Finns shoulders as we sang through the streets. We reached the house and all walked in loudly until we saw Tommy and polly standing watching us. We fell silent awaiting the punishment

"John, go home to your kids" polly said

"Nah pol. Ya see, they are staying over with the Lees as esmes parents wanted to babysit. Esme is out with her girlfriends so I am a free man" he said chuckling before polly kicked both him and Arthur out. No doubt, they were going back to the pub. I now stood by Finns side looking down. Finn was smirking the entire time as we got yelled at

"ARE YOU FUCKING INSANE. WE EXPECTED YOU STRAIGHT HOME. NOT GALIVANTING TO THE BLOODY PUB-"

"Aunt pol-"

"NO. LISTEN! YOU HAD US WORRIED SICK. HAVE YOU ANY IDEA HOW-"

"Aunt pol-" I said again

"WHAT?" She screamed. Before I could reply, I threw up all over Tommy's shoes. He stared at the wall as I did so looking very displeased. I wiped my mouth and looked him in the eyes

"Oops" I said shrugging.

"Upstairs. Now" he said to both me and finn. Ya see, me and my youngest brother are like best friends. We do almost everything together. And he always sticks up for me even against Tommy. He carried me up the stairs and to his room where he helped me get ready. Or started. But after I brushed my teeth and undid my platts from my hair, we had both passed out. I was asleep next to his bed on the floor and he was asleep in the doorway to his room. Best thing was, when I woke up, Tommy was so mad about the puke on his trainers that he forgot I stabbed a teacher. Every grey cloud has a silver lining
