Two weeks had passed and it was now the last week before the mid-term break. It was slowly dawning upon the group that their final day in senior year was getting closer - so they were going to make the most of it.

Over the mid-term break they had planned to take a camping trip together: a stress free weekend to relieve the pressure of senior year.

The plan was to watch Beca's soccer game, grab their bags and set off so they would arrive with enough time to pitch their tents before it got dark. Beca, Jesse, Stacie, Emily and Fat Amy had all been camping together once before and it turned out to be a disaster. Amy's tent had a hole in so she had to share with Stacie, it rained for the majority of the weekend, Beca's tent was flooded and on the way back they ran out of gas so had to push the car to the nearest gas station. This time they were prepared so they wouldn't repeat their previous mistakes.

"Mom, have you seen the tent?" Chloe asked, searching through the garage but unable to find anything she needed. Beca stood at the opposite side of the room, trying to find any other camping gear the Beale's owned.

"It should be in one of the boxes, I haven't unpacked it all yet." Mrs Beale replied.

Chloe dug through a few boxes she hadn't checked yet, finding a range of things from her first bike to some random (and dusty) fancy dress costumes that looked like they had seen better days. She rummaged through the boxes until she saw hidden behind them was the large bag that contained the tent, beside it some other camping gear.

Beca hauled it over her shoulder and put it in the back of her truck while Chloe carried over the portable stove and camping chairs. They grabbed a few other pieces that could come in use and went back into Chloe's living room where her mom was making dinner.

Mrs Beale had convinced Beca to come round for a pre-game meal that she promised would 'fill her with strength, energy and confidence' for the next morning. Obviously, Beca couldn't refuse and she made her way round, coming up with an excuse in case things headed south. Luckily for her, Chloe's dad was out of town on business so things weren't going to be too awkward.

A large amount of spaghetti was dished up on Beca's plate, along with the bolognese and a sprinkle of cheese. A dish of garlic bread was put into the centre of the table, surrounded by some very nice table decorations.

"This looks lovely, Mrs Bea- sorry, Anne." Beca complimented, making sure her best manners were on show but remembering she preferred Anne - her reason being Mrs Beale makes her sound old.

"I wasn't sure what to make but then I read online that athletes eat a lot of pasta before their events."

"It really does look good, Mom." Chloe smiled and then turned to Beca to give her a different kind of smile, reassuring her she was making a good impression.

Chloe and her mom said grace which Beca just respectfully bowed her head to and they tucked into their food. Mrs Beale had a million and one questions for Beca which the brunette politely responded to, keeping calm and composed. She then went on to tell stories of when Chloe was a child which Beca found hilarious but Chloe not so much since her face turned the same shade of red as her hair.

The meal finished and Beca stayed around to help clear up and maintain conversation until she had to go home. Mrs Beale gave Beca a hug goodbye and two leftover portions of spaghetti bolognese to give to Emily on Lucy on the way out. Chloe walked Beca to her truck, giving her a light kiss goodbye, not getting too passionate because she knew her mom was standing in the doorway.

Beca slowly drove off the driveway and to her house, Chloe and Anne waving her goodbye as she did. Beca was quite proud of herself, as she drove off, thinking that she made quite a good impression on Mrs Beale.
