Chapter Seven: Withdrawal

My head was thumping, and large beads of sweat were rolling down my back. Despite the fact I was freezing cold. I was shaking and the world felt like it was drifting away from me. I inhaled deeply and tried to slow my racing heart. It was probably because I wanted a fix. But I wasn't going to give in. I had to do this. For Dad.

What the fuck was happening to me? Hyunjin re-entered the lounge, just in time to stop my head smashing into the glass coffee table.

Darkness consumed me and I could hear him shouting my name from a really far away place as I felt like I was falling.

I held Felix as he began convulsing violently. I wasn't sure what to do and I knew he needed a hospital now.

"Ms Lee! Call an ambulance!" I yelled as I tried to create space around him. His body was flailing around and I was worried he was about to seriously injure himself. I cradled him and his eyes rolled back in his head. He looked possessed and the panic rising in me wasn't helping anything.

"What happened?!?!" She asked as she came rushing in with the phone pressed to her ear.

"I-I..." I didn't want to tell her the truth. I couldn't tell her we had met when I sold him drugs. It would crush her. She would never forgive me. Then I would never see either of them again.

We rushed into the hospital and I was desperately ringing Leeknow. He kept declining my phone calls and I was ready to throw hands on this kid. He finally answered.

"Yah! What the fuck is your problem? Stop blowing up my phone! I'm waiting for Jisung!" He yelled down the phone.

"Are you with him?" I asked desperately. I stopped and nodded to Ms Lee indicating I would catch up to her.

"Mmm why?" He asked, suddenly sounding interested in what I had to say.

"Tell him to get his ass to the hospital. Lix has collapsed." I said. "Probably from all that shit we were selling him." I hissed. The phone line went dead and I headed in the direction that I had seen Ms Lee going.

"Hyunjin!" She called my name as I rounded the corner. I ran over to her and she hugged me tightly. She was shaking and I tried to comfort her as best I could.

"Are you ok?" I knew it was a stupid question but I needed to ask it.

"Th-The doctors say he's having withdrawal symptoms. Was he on drugs?!" She looked up at me searching my face for answers. Answers that I could provide but didn't want to.

"M-Ms Lee..." She gasped and pulled away from me. She looked horrified. I ran my hand over my face, trying to find any words that would make this better.

"Wh-Where did he get them?" She demanded loudly. I groaned and held my head between my hands. Then I felt it. She slapped me hard. I recoiled and held my face in shock. The pain split across my cheek and spread like tiny daggers stabbing at my skin.

"M-Ms Lee," I said, but she wasn't listening. Her eyes were fixed on me and the anger on her face was obvious.

"Y-You-" My father suddenly appeared and embraced her. I staggered backwards and leaned against the wall. She sobbed into his chest and I sunk down onto the cold hospital floor. His arrival could not have come at a worse time.

My Father was going to kill us.

"Eomma!" Jisung's urgent voice floated down the hall as he approached us. He saw me and then his Mom and slowed. He placed his arm across Minho's torso to stop him in his tracks.
