Chapter Forty Eight: Broken

"Baby, please, I won't let them hurt you. Stop crying, it's going to be ok." I held my small tortured boy close to me as he sobbed uncontrollably. His whole body trembled as I rocked him and pressed my lips to his head. I looked up and everyone was watching us. Except for Lix. His eyes were fixed somewhere in space and he looked dead. Physically and emotionally.

"Sh-She was going to send us b-back." He wailed as he sobbed. I wasn't sure what I was feeling. Everything was so overwhelming, but focusing on my sweet little Leeknow was helping distract from the unbearable pain in my chest.

"Changbin and Seungmin are on their way. We can't afford to let anyone get taken." Chris said quietly as he wrapped his arms tightly around Jeongin. Leeknow hid his face in my neck and I rubbed his arm and leg simultaneously as he continued to weep.

"You guys can stay as long as you like. Chan and I are actually renting this place now. My parents agreed to let me stay here whilst they went travelling as long as someone was here with me." Jeongin said quietly. I was so grateful we had such good friends around us.

"Thanks Jeongin." Felix finally spoke. He didn't even sound like himself anymore. Something, no, everything about him was different.

"Please don't let them take me." Leeknow whined loudly again.

"Will you please, SHUT THE FUCK UP?!" Felix jumped to his feet as he screamed at Minho. I stared up at my brother in complete shock.

"Yah, Lix. He's scared." I said as I shielded Minho from my brother's rage. I had seen this many times and I wasn't letting Min get caught up in one of his tyrannical violent moods.

"So are the rest of us! You don't see me bitching and whining about it!" He screamed. Minho grabbed my shirt in his fists and shook even harder. What the fuck was Lix thinking?!

"What the fuck is wrong with you?! We're all fucking hurting Lix! Don't take it out on us!" I yelled loudly.

"Maybe if you hadn't been such a fucking whiny baby that day, and just fucking come with us Dad wouldn't even be dead!" I inhaled sharply and stood, still holding Minho. I gently released him into Hyunjin's lap, a calmness had suddenly spread over me as my patience finally ran out.

"Two seconds baby." I murmured as I kissed his cheek softly. He buried his face into his brother and Jin immediately hugged him, but his eyes were glued to Felix and I. I span and threw my fist as hard as I could at my brothers face.

"YAH!" Chris yelled after Lix staggered backwards.

"Say that again." I dared him. I shook my hand out and watched as he regained his bearings. He began laughing, but not in a light way, it was a deep maniacal laugh. He launched himself at me and that was it. We were throwing punches and it took Hyunjin, Chris and Jeongin to break us apart.

"I wish you would have fucking died you asshole!" I screamed as angry tears flooded down my cheeks. "Why don't you just fucking kill yourself?!" I was struggling against Chris' tight grip and Lix was fighting Hyunjin with everything he had.

"I wish they'd never fucking adopted you! You're a waste of air!" He screamed back. We continued hurling the most hurtful insults we could think of as the last of our family began falling apart.

"YAH!" Changbin's voice cut through the air loudly as he entered and placed his body between us. "Both of you shut the fuck up! How can you say these things to each other?! You're brothers!" He yelled angrily as his head darted between us.

"He's no brother of mine." I said coldly as I fixed my eyes on Felix's. Whatever I thought we had built had just been broken completely. Nothing would ever be the same between us again.
