Inspired by Regina and . It doesn't have much to do with this, but I'm really proud of this.

"Do you have any threes?" A smirk appeared on Josh's lips. He glanced over at Chad, his partner in crime.

"Oh my god," you grumbled, putting the cards on the table. "How are you doing this?" Josh and Chad looked at each other. You felt a breath behind you. You turned, Graciela smirking at you and making their little game obvious. "Cheaters!"

"You gave them numbers the entire game? Really, babe?" Tony asked, betrayed by his wife.

Laughter erupted, you and Tony pouting as you gave up. Josh was grinning at you. All day he'd been texting you, talking smack about how he was going to win tonight. You recalled his messages, making fun that he had to cheat to win. He took it, holding his hands up. Ben left earlier than anticipated, leaving an uneven number at the table.

"What's all this?" Everyone looked at Damon intruding on the night. Josh sipped his drink, sharing a look with Graciela. "Y/N, can we talk in the kitchen for a moment?"

Game Night was always fun for you. Well, usually. Technically, it began as a couple's game night with teams, but after breaking up with your last serious boyfriend, it just became game night. Different board games were played, like Monopoly or Chutes and Ladders. Other times, the group would play Poker. While they didn't require teams or partners, you couldn't help but feel lonely on your side of the table. For a while, you invited Damon, having to change game nights to Thursdays when he didn't work late. Now, with Josh by your side, you could go back to the regular Wednesday nights, which is how Damon found you.

Damon was your roommate of almost three years. You'd known each other since high school but never really talked. The two of you somehow chose the same college. In all reality, he hadn't noticed or even talked to you until the end of freshman year when you hit a final growth spurt, filling your chest in. Braces were removed and contacts were chosen around the same time, earning attention from all the boys. It took a minute, but Damon remembered you after jogging his memory. The friendship was just that, a friendship. Besides, you were committed to someone else, and Josh even considered you his official girlfriend. Why wouldn't he? The two of you hung out often, usually alone. While he had cold feet about asking you of be official, it wasn't that he was unsure of his feelings. It had to do with your profession and the way that you first got to know each other.

Damon had immediately found an issue with the situation. He hated Josh and you couldn't figure out why. Unlike the girlfriends Damon had brought home in the past, Josh left at reasonable times and called before coming over. He also never keyed your car, had never thrown a fit in the kitchen, or tried to light the building on fire, but those doors are still open.

"I am so sorry, Damon. I forgot to text you that they were here." You pulled more club sodas from the fridge. Chad was on no-alcohol kick. Out of respect for him, everyone was having a nice, sober night.

"But I thought we always did that together?" Damon pouted, about two seconds away from stamping his foot and crying. You held back an eye roll, explaining it all to him. Josh was technically your boyfriend now. Though he had never blatantly asked you to be his girlfriend, you were still steady. He scoffed, "I'll be in my room."

You entered the dining room, laughing off Damon's little fit. It was obvious that they had heard, feeling like they were intruding. Assuring them that it was fine, you took a seat. Ben was sitting in his chair from earlier, holding hands with his husband. As it turns out, the fire wasn't as big as they thought, and he could come back to finish off the night. Chad whispered what happened with Damon and Ben suppressed a laugh. It was a little awkward when none of your friends liked your roommate, but he had a stable job and always paid the rent on time.
