" Well, they say the royal family has a special power that they develop when growing up and there's some other powers that you can unlock on a quest for the magical stone. The stone that gives them their one unique power. Sometimes merpeople say that if you are worthy you can get more. I searched under the bed and under the pillow. I started pressing against the wall and pulled on the books then gave up. I had searched everywhere. There's no passageway here. Maybe CiCi thought it was here, but it wasn't here. I was sure . . . of . . . that. What if I hadn't checked everywhere, what if . . . I sprang up which was so forceful from the water I hit my head on the ceiling. After I vigorously rubbed my head to stop the pain I swam toward the mystery board carefully took off the poster of the woman, folded it into a tiny square, and slipped it into the crook of my tail. Then I ripped off the board and hit it with a ball of water watching the million little pieces of wood float with the ocean currents. I smiled, from the satisfaction of ruining something of Aguas but also straight ahead was a little crawling space. I swam through with a powerful push. Wow, his room was so . . . golden and beautiful. I loved it, and wouldn't have mind sleeping there myself. I spun around then stopped. I swam toward the closet and checked threw his clothes. Yes, I had proof that he had shown that phony picture of Shelly! She hadn't been chopping someone's head off, she was chopping up tomatoes! Like I saw when I first went to her house. Just like I thought, Agua must be some kind of master spier he had found me in the kitchen, in the secret house, and outside the palace. He was watching me everywhere. That's how he knew what I was doing. So that means . . . I searched everywhere I could behind me while still acting like I was searching the closet. I saw a figure move by the bed. I turned around like lightning and threw a hangar made of shell at him," Come out, Agua!" I yelled, I heard a familiar voice say ow." Kai!" I swam forward and pulled him up," Oww, gentle. Guess I'm not a master of disguise," he took my offering of a hand and I hauled him up. " Everyone was starting to get worried. You've been gone for hours." Had I been gone for that long? I mean hours? Really, I've been gone for hours?" He nodded," Yeah, we thought there was something wrong." I looked at him funny," Is this we everybody or just you?" " Really, just me but everyone was a tiny bit worried. So I went to find you." I chuckled," That's nice of you." He puffed out his chest." Yeah I am pretty cool. I can't lie about that," I frowned," You just ruined the moment. I have a lot to explain. But-" Kai interrupted," We can talk about it later." Suddenly a merperson burst through the crawling space," You two disgust me! Talk again and I'll knock you both out!" We pulled away completely." What Agua? What do you need now?" I said through bared teeth, Kai swam in front of me," Leave her alone and go back to the barnacle you came from," he grabbed my hand. I held tight," Sorry, but I need her. She's coming with me whether you like it or not." He threw a rock at Kai's scar. He winced then threw a water ball at Aguas face. Then it went rock, ball, rock, ball, rock, ball. I looked at both of them confused, this was going to happen again?" I'm so sick of you two!" I yelled," Really, cause you were just holding hands with him." I glared at Agua," Shut it, before I do. Ok, don't actually because I need to ask you questions but you get my meaning." I formed a water ball behind me and suddenly it froze. Like ice, must be a new power," What do you want from me?" I asked carefully," I want you to get me the necklace. But it requires your voice, hand print, code, and your name. You real full name," oh, man! I don't even know my full name! With all this mermaids and merpeoples and seaweed and all this confusing stuff. It makes no sense!" What do you need it for?" I asked calmly. He grinned, I mockingly grinned back," Yeah, that's not happening. Kai and me are not going anywhere, and neither are you." I threw the ice ball at his angry face. He dodged it easily, huh, he wasn't like others who would usually overreact and move everywhere which made it confusing. It was a simple thing just do a simple movement. I made another one and threw it at his hand then his other hand. Then a huge one was combined with me and Kai's and I threw it at his chest, making him bounce into the wall." I see your getting more powerful by the minute. Next is going to be controlling the waves," I smiled," You think so? Because I'd love to put you in that and freeze it," I teased, even though that partly wasn't a joke. I turned toward Kai, he wasn't doing anything, just . . . staring." What is it?" I looked back at Agua, he was heaving while clutching at his side. I rolled my eyes, it wasn't even that bad." Zayana, we need to go. Now, while we have the chance," now I was scared." What are you talking about?" He pointed at the map and ripped it off before I could look at it. He gripped my hand," We have to go." I pulled away," No, first tell me what's going on?" I was angry, we weren't doing this again, people keeping things from me. No! Not again. I was tired of listening to other people but they don't want to listen to me. I yelled back," And while your in it you listen to me! I need to save it, this whole place is apparently mine. I didn't ask for this! I don't want it! But if you're going to act that way than so can I!" I wasn't lying about what I said. I didn't want any of this. I would give all of it away for my parents and Auntie A. He was almost ready to cry too," But your not, Zayana! No one knows your queen! No one cares! Your mom abandoned you for a reason! To protect you! Your not supposed to be queen, admit it!" I let the tears come," You liar! Stop saying that! My mom didn't abandon me! She - she does care." The more I said it the more I realized my mom might've maybe just meant for me not to be queen. Not like I wanted to anyway. What if my mom had abandoned me on the surface for a reason? Agua launched forward and grabbed Kai and I was too angry and hurt to do anything about it.
