I finally got done with studying and decide to text Jackson.

"Hey let's hang out" I text

I immediately get a response.

"Sure. What do you want to do?" He asks.

I'm not sure what I want to do. I haven't thought this far ahead yet.

"Let's go for a walk in the park"

"Sure. We can get some food after if you're up for it" he texts back.

"Yes that's fine. As long as it's not a date"

"No ma'am. Just friends" he says.

"Ok meet you there in 10 minutes"

Ok... I know we're just friends, but I don't want to look ugly. Maybe I can dress up just a bit.

I start frantically looking through my clothes and find something not too cute but still acceptable.

I don't want to look like I'm trying too hard.

I find a comfortable T-shirt and put on jeans.

This will be fine.

I put my hair in a ponytail and put on a little makeup and make my way out the door.

I pull into the park and look around for Jackson. My eyes finally meet him, and he smiles at me and walks over.

"Let's walk shall we" he says.

"So... can I ask you a few questions"

"Sure. Depending on the questions"

"So why do you have such a bad boy attitude" I ask.

"I don't like getting close to people. Somebody will always make you regret being they're friend"

"Fair enough" I say.

"So do I get to ask questions" he says stopping in front of me.

"Depends on the question" I say sarcastically and smiling.

"You're a good girl. Why do you want to be around me?" He asks.

"You're not a bad person. You just have an attitude problem" I say.

"Fair enough" he says laughing.

"So, what's your family like?" I ask.

"I don't talk about my family much" he says.

"Ok well I don't want to intrude with any questions" I say nervously.

"No, it's fine. My mom's name is Carolyn, and my dad is Matthew. They're rich as hell and they never spent time with me much growing up. My mom is amazing though" he says.

"Well, I'm sorry to hear that they couldn't make much time for you"

"No, it's fine. What about your parents?" He asks.

"My mom is Rachel, and my dad is David. They're not rich but we had enough to get by. The bills were paid, and we lived comfortably" I say.

"We're you're parents around a lot as a kid and now?" He asks.

"My dad was always working. He's a lawyer so he didn't get a lot of time off, but my mom was a stay-at-home mom. She was always around" I say.

"Well at least you had one parent there at all times" he says.

"Yea. She's not a bad mom. Overbearing at times but not bad" I say.

"Aren't all moms overbearing?" He asks laughing.

"Yea I guess. What are your parents jobs?"

"My mom is a writer. That's where I get my love for writing from. Although she's never published a book, she looks continues to write to this day. She never did it for money or fame. She just loved it"

"That's why I write too. What about your dad?"

"He's a surgeon. He Makes a lot of money but he's never around. I'm not sure if he "works" late because of his job or because of his cheating. There's always a new woman in the picture. My mom doesn't deserve how he treats her. She's a good woman" he says.

"I'm sorry to hear that. I don't understand why a man can't be happy with what he has"

"Well let's get off of the family subject" he says.

"Yea it's getting a little sad" I say chucking a bit.

"Let's go get some food now" he says.

"Sounds like a plan" I say smiling.
