Rory's POV -
Watching the silver car pull out of the drive and down the road pushed me out of my lovestruck trance. Closing the door, I raced to my room and pulled out my phone. I saw a text from Dad that Isabella was being discharged soon, and they should be home in half an hour. The message was sent 15 minutes ago, so the Chief of Police and my bitchy injured sister should be home in 15 minutes-ish. I send him a text back saying that I got his message and I was starting to make dinner. I then went back down into the kitchen to start boiling water for pasta. Then, I called Adrienne. She picked up on the second ring.
"No. She's dead. This is her son."
"Hey Addy."
"Oh. Hey Rory. Why are you calling me? You never call me. Is something wrong? Do I need to call someone?"
"I'm fine. Better then fine actually. Edward asked me out."
"What! Tell me everything."
"So, I left the hospital. In a quiet rage type thing. And he drove me to this clearing in the woods. Well, he drove me to a path and we walked 20 minutes to a clearing. And we sat in silence for a bit. Then I had and emotional breakdown about my sister. As you do. And I said I was being pathetic. And he said he was there for me. And he kissed me. And I kissed him. And he asked me to the movies.".
"And what did you say?"
"Yes. Of course. But in a much more  awkward way."
"Okay. But he better take good care of you. If not, tell me and I'll make him regret his entire existence."
"Aren't you supposed to be threatening me about hurting him. Y'know, being his sister and all."
"Eh. I trust you. Only problem is, now I have no one one my team for family game night."
"It's just one date. Not marriage."
"He makes you happy, right?"
"Very."
"Then go get him. And if you start to love him, never let him go without a fight."
"Alright, little miss motivational speaker."
"I know you can't see, but I'm rolling my eyes so hard right now. Anyway, what time is he picking you up?"
"5."
"I'll be there at 3.45."
"Sure. Hold on, let me find some pasta."
"What?"
"I'm making dinner. The waters just boiled."
"Oh. Great, I guess. Just give me a description of your wardrobe so I know if I need to bring some of Jasper's unworn clothes."
"What! I don't need his stuff. It's the movies, not the royal ball."
"Okay. That's a yes then."
"No. It's a no. It's definitely a-"
"I need to go hunt Jasper's room. See you tomorrow."
With that, the call ended.

I put the pasta into the Boling sauce pan. Minutes later, my father and evil twin walked in. She had a cast on one arm, and a plaster on her head. I almost felt sorry for her. Almost.
"Pasta should be 5 minutes."
"Great. Thanks kid, for making dinner. I don't think Bella could've and we decided a long time ago not to let me feed you."
"No problem. I'm no Gordon Ramsey, so it's jut pesto pasta."
"Sounds good."
"Hey, is it alright if I go the the movies tomorrow?"
"Yeah sure. I couldn't stop you anyway. You got a date?" I blushed.
"That's a yes then. What time are you leaving?"
"He's picking me up at 5, but Addy's coming at 3.45 for some reason." I could see Isabella stiffen at the pronoun I used for my date.
"So. You and the Cullen boy huh?" I blush harder, and the demon in the room glared at me angrily, which escaped Dad's notice.
"I saw how you boys were looking at each other in that hospital room. You're cute."
"Thanks, dad?"
"But the door stays open in the bedroom. I don't want to risk teen pregnancy."
"I mean, biology has already put a stop to that."
"You know what I meant. Just be careful. And I want to meet him. His father's a good sort. I need to make sure he is too. Not just anybody takes my kids on dates."
"He's great Dad. Really great."
"I'm sure he is. But it's parent rules, I need to deem him okay first."
"Fine."
I drain the pasta, mix in the pesto and serve.

After dinner, when Dad's asleep on the couch in front of the game, the storm I've been almost waiting for arrives. She comes into my room and shoves me into the floor, making my pen skid across the page in my diary. I put both pieces of stationery down before I feel a kick in the side.
"You fucking f*g. Not only did you have to like men, but you had to choose the one guy you couldn't have. He's mine. Cullen's mine." I get another kick in the side.
"He loves me. So I don't know what you think your f**gy little game is, but stop now. Eddie isn't like you. His incestuous brothers are, but he's not. He's my soulmate. It's my kids he will share. It's me who he will be married to. Not you so just stop." I ket a hard kick during the second half of her speech. And another after.
"And it's your fault I got hit. If it hadn't been for you, I wouldn't even BE in this godforsaken town, with that piece of crap that Charlie calls a truck. You caused my broken arm. Your lucky I don't break your nose. The only reason I don't is because people would notice. So why don't you take you and all the f***iness you have and jump off the cliffs." With one final kid for good measure she left. I just lay where I am. I lay there for at least 15 minutes, before painfully getting up, going downstairs, and filling a sandwich bag with a few ice cubes, and putting it on my torso.

Third person POV-
Outside the older Swan's window, golden eyes watched the entire thing. Listened to the entire thing. He watched the kicks, and the ice. He heard the angry rant. And he was pissed. After he saw the bruised boy go to bed, he watched like a guardian angel. Planning his revenge.
