"Helena?" Daniel put his hand over mine and gave it a gentle squeeze. "Are you alright?"

My eyes shifted to him. I shot a weak smile before parting my lips to speak. "Of course. Why wouldn't I be?"

"I'm worried. You seem to... zone out a lot these past few days." He said, concern evident in his tone.

"I'm just thinking. But I promise I'm fine." I leant over and planted a kiss on his cheek.

"If you say so. But if anything's up, you know you can tell me right?" He told me.

"Yeah." I sighed. "Anyway, tell me about college." I changed the subject.

Daniel and I sat by the fireplace at his house. The dark, cloudy weather outside was drawing me into greater depression. We sat on really soft bean bags and surrounded ourselves with hot chocolate and marshmallows. I decided to spend as much time with Daniel as possible before he leaves for college again. He was the right guy for me. Not Harry.

My heart and mind were still at war, though. They had conflicting views. My heart was beating out loud for Harry. But my mind wanted me to hold on to Daniel. After all, he moved to Gripleville so he could be closer to me. Any guy who would do that is simply... perfect.

Daniel's the type of guy that would take care of me forever, even if it meant losing everything he had. I knew that was how much he loved me. I would be a total idiot to give him up. I needed to keep him by my side. I decided that I would somehow stop Harry from getting to him.

But that was through me. I needed to be strong and ignore Harry completely no matter how much he tempts me. I know I have these weird feelings for Harry but realistically thinking, what could come out of our relationship? Nothing. Because he's only playing around.

And according to Polly, I'm not his type anyway.

"Could we not talk about my college for a second? I'm going back to that dreadful place in two weeks." Daniel laughed.

"Alright, then what about your band?" I asked.

"We're not allowed to play anymore remember?"

"Oh right."

Then there was an awkward silence. We used to have so much to talk about before but now all we talk about is his college and well... that's it. I hated that.

"Open wide." I broke the silence. I snatched a piece of marshmallow from the bowl and aimed it at Daniel.

"I love this game." He chuckled and opened his mouth wide.

I threw several marshmallows into his mouth but only a few went in. He grabbed my waist and pulled me closer to him, resulting in the both of us falling off the bean bag and onto the floor. I toppled on top of him as we laughed.

Daniel's hands were placed behind my neck and I was pulled into a passionate kiss. My lips wrestled with his, our noses brushing against each other. I invested a lot of passion, but in return, I received nothing. I pulled away.

"What's wrong?" Daniel asked.

I bit my lip. "Nothing." I shut my eyes tight and resumed the kiss.

As my eyes were closed, images of Harry flashed through my mind. And before I knew it, I was imagining that I was kissing Harry.

My fingers went through his hair as we intertwined our lips. I imagined they were soft, brown curls. I imagined laying on top of his muscular body. I imagined his striking green eyes looking deep into mine. I imagined his strong hands tightly grasping onto my waist.

And there it was. The feeling I'd been yearning to experience with Daniel. The magical, indescribable feeling.

Daniel pulled away and sat up. Confusion was prominent in his features.

I smiled at him. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Why did you say 'Harry'?" He asked.

My mouth was agape but words weren't coming out. My palms started to sweat. "W-when did I say that?"

"You whispered my brother's name."

"I did? Y-yeah..." I noticed someone unlocking the entrance door from outside. "Because he's here. I was trying to tell you that your brother is here." I lied.

"Oh." Daniel relaxed his face. "Right. I almost thought it was something weird."
I'm such an idiot.

The entrance door was pushed open and a tall figure entered. It really was Harry. He had a thick jacket and a beanie on. His infamous curls were nowhere in sight. He threw his keys on the table and looked at us.

"What are you two doing on the floor?" He gave out a small laugh. "Did I interrupt something?"

"No." Daniel answered and stood up. "I thought you were supposed to be searching for a job?"

"Uh, yeah. Right." Harry took off his jacket and walked into the kitchen.

"And did you find one?" He asked, following him into the kitchen. I went to the living room and sat on the couch, avoiding interference.

"Maybe." Harry replied as he dug into the refrigerator for a snack.

"You weren't really searching for a job, were you?"

"Yes, I was."

"Why did you take the instruments with you then?" Daniel crossed his arms.

"Look, the holidays are going to be over soon. I don't want to work." Harry peeled down the sides of his banana.

"And instead you were off playing music when Mum banned us from it?"

"Stop being Mum's little minion. Give me a break. It's because of you I can't play music eventhough I did nothing wrong and you can't let me off this one time for sneaking out?" Harry took a bite out of his banana before walking to the living room.

"You could've told me the truth." Daniel told him.

"You could've told Mum the truth." He retorted and sat beside me on the couch.

"You know I did. She just wouldn't buy it."

Then my phone started to beep. I pulled it out of my pocket to see messages from both my parents. Harry looked over. "Are those nudes from Daniel?" He laughed.

"Very funny." Daniel faked a smile.

"No they're from my Mum." I said, moving my phone out of Harry's vision.

'We need to talk. Come home.' One from my mother read.

'You are in serious trouble. Come back.' Another from my father said.

I was agitated. What did I do to get into serious trouble? "Uh, I need to go home now." I said, my voice slightly trembling.

"I could drop you off near the library. I need to stop by there anyway." Daniel offered.

"Alright, thanks."

"Let me just grab my coat from upstairs." He said and rushed to his room.

"Something's up. What is it?" Harry asked, resting his hand on my lap.

I shook my head and stood up. I had to ignore him.

"Let's go." Daniel said, walking down the stairs.
