Today is the day.

They were finally leaving... the people who waltzed into my achromatic life and painted it with a band of bright colours, before completely tearing the canvas away. I wished they would just fade into oblivion so I could stop hurting already.

I was awake at eight in the morning, which was early for me. I wouldn't say I even slept at all. There were so many things going on in my head.

But that was it. After everything Harry and I had been through, our relationship died in the blink of an eye. Yesterday was the last time I saw him... and would ever see him. The memories we had came flooding back and I was drowning in despair.

Cross legged, I sat on the warm, floccose sheet of my bed whilst glaring at the laptop screen. My oversized woolen sweater covered me till the thighs. I wore the littlest shorts - the pair I was most comfortable in but would've probably been criticised by my father for being too indecent.

Not even those funny Youtube videos could put even slight smile on my face. Whatever I did to distract myself from my sorrows didn't work.

"Helena?" Aunt Vivian peered into my room from the small opening of the door.

"Come in, Aunt Vivi." I told her, clasping the laptop close.

Pushing the door in, she strolled inside before jolting and covering her eyes with her skinny hands. "Oh, sorry." She exclaimed. "Didn't know you were trouserless."

"I'm wearing shorts." I sighed, tugging the quilt over my bare legs.

"Oh!" She giggled, moving her hands to her waist. "Your mum wanted me to convince you to come downstairs to eat... a snack atleast."

"I'm just not hungry. I've told her several times." I grumbled.

Her light coloured eyes suddenly dilated as she gaped at the window by my bedside. I slowly turned my head as I kept my gaze on her, hoping she hadn't gone completely mad yet. "Aunt Vivian, you look like you've just seen a ghos-"

My breath hitched in my throat when I was met with the surprising sight of a messy-haired boy climbing onto my balcony. I threw the quilt off and scrambled over to the door. I quickly locked it, as I wouldn't be able to stand any more lectures from my mum.

As I pressed my back against the door, my attention was drawn back to Harry. He toppled onto the balcony tiles from the railing.

"H-Helena... what is he doing here?" Aunt Vivian stuttered as I paced to the sliding window, unsure myself what he was doing. Aunt Vivian opened the door of my closet and parted hung dresses and t-shirts while pushing herself in before closing the door again. I didn't understand why she would hide in a closet.

Harry got on his feet and straightened himself up, strapping a backpack over his shoulder. He shot a somewhat nervous half smile at me as I pushed the sliding doors open.

"What the hell are you do-" I was cut off by his lips crashing against mine. I stumbled backwards into the room with Harry, our kiss intact. He threw his backpack to the floor and I was tugged close to him, his grip on my waist was forceful. I couldn't comprehend what was happening.

I harshly bit on his lower lip and he finally pulled away, giving me some air. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" I spat as he removed his hands from my waist and frowned.

"You bit me!" He complained in his usual gruffy voice that I missed. He swiped his index across his lower lip and held it up in my face. There was a tinge of red on the fingertip. But I didn't feel sorry because he deserved it.

"I think you were right, you are crazy." I asserted. "How did you even climb up-"

"I love you, you freak." He interrupted, taking deep breaths. He advanced closer to me and placed a hand on the nape of my neck. He knew it would calm me down, and it did.

"You have this annoying habit of running away before I finish speaking." He smirked, his emerald eyes intently studying mine.

"I don't know if I can trust you again." I murmured.

Harry licked his slightly injured lower lip before exhaling deeply. "Honestly, I did plan to hurt Daniel. I did want to take you away from him.  But somewhere along the way, I'm not quite certain how exactly it happened but I found myself falling for you. But I do remember exactly when."

"When?"

"On the way to Fleese, in the car, when you were looking out the open window. I wondered why I couldn't stop watching you and this... strange feeling hit me. I'd only felt it once before when I was in the second grade. I had this massive crush on a girl and," He paused and grinned, his dimples pronounced. "I'm going off topic, aren't I?" He asked, rubbing his neck.

"Kind of." I replied. I couldn't help but smile.

"What I'm trying to say, Helena Lilan, is that I am in fact in love with you. And to me, it's something quite alien. But I'm not afraid to say it anymore. I mean, I needed to let you know so bad that I climbed up to your balcony." He finished with shaky laugh.

I chuckled along before crossing my arms and tilting my head to the side, meeting his gaze. "But couldn't you have told me this sooner? You made me feel like an idiot yesterday."

"I tried calling, texting so many times. Didn't you get any of that?"

"My parents took my phone away..." I answered. "My parents took my phone away!" My eyes widened at the realisation that my parents might have seen the texts and missed calls. I rushed to the door but was halted by a grip on my arm.

"The phone's with me." Aunt Vivian told me. She had staggered out of the closet.

"Wait, you were in that closet all this time?" Harry asked, scratching his head through all the curls.

"I'm straight." She answered, squinting at him.

"No he was asking if you had been in the room the whole time." I palmed my forehead.

"Oh! Yes, and I heard everything." She smiled, revealing her rabbit teeth. "Don't worry. I won't tell your parents about this, Helena. This is a beautiful love story." She clasped her hands together and beamed at us. "I'll get your phone for you, dear." She announced before tiptoeing out of the room and shutting the door loudly behind her.

"What now?" I questioned, crossing my arms. I glanced up to see Harry's dangerous green orbs carefully scanning my body. I stood awkwardly in his rather intimidating glare, attempting to tug down the material of my sweater as I blushed.

"Harry." I fussed.

"You should stay trouserless more often." He commented as a cheeky grin gradually came into sight. "Although it's terribly distracting."

"Dear lord, I'm not trouserless. I'm wearing shorts." I countered before heaving a sigh. "Aren't you supposed to be on your way to Millburn with your family... and Polly?"

"Yeah but it was delayed because Polly had a contraction hours ago. She's at the hospital now." He told me as he sat himself on the edge of my bed, running his fingers through his ringlets. "And I took it as a distraction."

"Wha-? What are you planning now? Tell me." I urged.

"I'm not going, Helena."

"What?"

"They're going to start looking for me soon, though."

"And...?"

"Thought I'd just stay with you until I figure out what to do."
