Sonnet 5: Enemy of Resentment

My heart is broken, but I shall move on;

When I see him, rage does not engulf me;

Why be angry when he has justly won?

To pray for this man will grant me the key:

I see two doors: envy or apathy;

He has but only embraced his lover;

My own cowardice is to blame, not he;

Why lament the blessing of another?
_______________________________

I shall not be a man of resentment;

To live like that is to admit defeat;

Keep moving forward, that's where my mind went;

The demon that plagues my soul, I shall beat:

For I cannot lose what was never mine;

Though, my heart for you will forever pine.
