Sonnet 31: Equal Equilibrium

Leaving this city racks my inner thoughts,

As I board a plane, my future unknown,

Heart and stomach both tie themselves in knots,

Soul and engine both collectively groan:

In three months' time, will I see you again?

Even if I do, would it be a curse?

Perhaps it would break my heart's rusted chain,

Then I might read what I wrote, say this verse:

Wishful thinking, a mad man's fantasy,

To dream of a world, where you're alone;

Since that would require some tragedy,

For you to lose your true love of your own:

Love works in equal equilibrium,

For if you I gain, you must lose someone
