I write these sonnets from my heart to mind;

They takes minutes to read but months to write,

My love was brief, but here it escapes time;

In lonely darkness poetry shines bright;

As I wander my heart's barren cavern;

I grope and feel my way along the wall;

Three weeks, my soleless shoes have been worn in;

Deeper and deeper in pitch black, I crawl:

Laying on bare stone, something drives me on;

The further down, the greater the riches,

At the start, only silver words I won,

But now I find gold; my reward this is:

Lost love has made me trudge this world blind,

But in the written arts, new eyes I find.
