For it seemed I had almost moved on,

But then I saw you, sorrow on your face;

In sadness, you shined brighter than the sun;

Some help I offered, can't escape this race:

I did what I could, you seemed very grateful;

Anxious to go, but you wanted to talk;

That morning gave me bliss, seemed so fateful;

Why don't I run away? Can't even walk:

You want to be friends, I understand that,

But I long for what you will never give;

Can't you see my heart has been torn and thrashed?

Mere friendship would cut my soul deep: a shiv:
