At first sight, I was blinded by your grace;

My heart jumped, though I had not seen your face ;

I got to know you more, day after day;

I thought I had found my true path, my way:

The weekend dawned, I could not find you where;

Every hour, your image grew more fair ;

Until that next week's morning you told me,

That past Sunday, you chose to spend with he:

My heart stuck in my throat, still as a rock,

I feigned apathy, I concealed my shock;

One hour, all my efforts not to cry,

The same thought I had to fight, not to die:

Though it hurts me, I do not think I can;

A one way love, I can not be your friend.
