Ora et labora, just work and prayer,

These are the two words that still I cling to;

To deviate from this, I do not dare,

My once many pleasures must remain few:

For years now, I've been a man of extremes;

Balance has forever escaped my grasp;

A battle rages in my mind: two teams,

Reason fights the desires of the past:

Am I doomed to have a lopsided life?

One selfishly devoted to myself,

Or one lived for others' sake with great strife;

In my faith I find true spiritual wealth:

The mental seesaw governs my actions,

One is raised; one is lowered; two factions.
