Sonnet 29: If I Could Say

I could say I love you like no other;

I could say I would give my all and more;

I could say I wish you were my lover;

But for who would I be saying this for?

If I really wanted what was your best,

Then I would keep all my coulds to myself;

Since telling you would only give me rest,

And so these feelings grow old on my shelf:
______________________________
I could tell people around the world,

But I cannot bring myself to tell you,

I could tell my peers, my thoughts unfurled

But my love, I cannot tell feelings true:
____________________________
I may never tell you what I could say,

But for your good and his I always pray.
