Chapter Nineteen
*******************
"Stiles, this is taking forever." I groaned, flipping through a magazine. Stiles and I have been sitting in this stupid mechanic shop waiting on his jeep to get fixed, no thanks to Erica.
"I know.." He said sitting down in the chair next to me. "Thank's for coming with me though."
I looked up from the magazine, "You're lucky I like you...."
"Heck yeah I am." He smiled standing up and looking out the window again at the guy working on his beloved jeep. "I don't understand what is taking so long..." I watched as his eyes squinted and he quickly went to open the door. "Hey! Woah dude, What are you doing???"
He rushed out the door towards the young guy who was working underneath the vehicle. I got up and stood next to the door so I could see what was going on.
"Dude, all I needed was a starter." Stiles complained.
The mechanic turned his drill off and gave Stiles a look of annoyance, "Yeah, but it looks like your whole exhaust system needs to be replaced...."
I walked just outside of the door, and could hear Stiles click his tongue all the way from where I was. "Why do I get the feeling you're slightly overestimating the damage?"
The Mechanic leaned foreward a little bit holding himself up on his elbow, "It's probably gonna run you around like twelve hundred for parts and labor." He leaned himself back down and began drilling again.
Twelve Hundred dollars was a heck of a lot more than Stiles could afford. There was no way he was going to pay it, at least not without a some sort of fight.
"You've got to be kidding....This thing doesn't have a catalytic converter." Stiles yelled, flailing his arms around."And yes I know what a catalytic converter is!"
The mechanic shut the drill off once more, "Do you know what a limited slip differential is?" He asked in an arrogant tone.
"No." Stiles said coldly.
The mechanic chuckled a bit, and turned his drill back on. "Yeah, you are gonna need about fifteen hundrend."
Stiles let out a deep breath and threw his hands in the air,"Okay fine! Just finish. I'll be back here, seething with rage!" He said as he made his way back towards myself and the waiting room. I held back a chuckle as Stiles began mumbling profanities that I couldn't understand under his breath.
As I turned around to go through the door my elbow hit the doorknob and I felt myself touch something gooey, "Ew disgusting." I mumbled under my breath. I could have sworn I left the door open, but I guess it closed behind me...
Before I could warn Stiles he grabbed the doorknob and a disgusted look overtook his face. "Oh nice! Real sanitary, quality establishment you're running here!" He yelled in the direction of the mechanic, while shaking the goo off his hand.
"I got some on me too." I said scrunching my nose up, and showing him my elbow. Stiles being the amazing boyfriend he is took his sleeve and wiped the gross substance off of my elbow.
I took a look at the wall to find a picture frame of what looked to be the mechanic, wearing a Beacon Hills Lacrosse Uniform. I nudged Stiles and pointed a finger to the picture. "Figures." He mumbled.
All the sudden my whole body began to feel heavy, and then I couldn't feel my hands. "Uh, Stiles...I-" Before I could even finish my sentence my body fell limp on ground and I couldn't feel a thing, I couldn't even speak.
