Chapter Twenty Eight

**********

"Allison there is no way you can go to the rave with Matt, I refuse to let you go." I protested, as I continued painting the nails on her left hand. " As your best friend, i'm not letting it happen. Why did you even agree to go?!"

She let out a small laugh, "Okay, mom. I was just trying to get him away from me so I could get to you and Jackson, and well we all saw how that ended..." She looked towards the ground, I knew for a fact it was still bugging her that Jackson acted the way he did, and she wasn't there to protect me like she said she would have been. But honestly I was past it and I was never mad at her, she couldn't help it and she's not my babysitter, she's my best friend. If she would have been in there, I know she would have protected me. It could have been a lot worse.

"Allison," I waited for her head to lift up before continuing, "look we don't need to talk about that okay, Matt started bugging you and we needed to get to Jackson...there was nothing but good intentions. So let's just drop that and discuss how the heck you're going to tell Scott..."

"Oh God, I don't know....do you think he'll freak?"

I shrugged finishing the last of my paint job, "Um...I don't know...honestly, he's kind of unpredictable sometimes. He may freak out a little bit, but Stiles and I are pretty much expert Scott tamers at this point...so I think we could handle it." I said with a chuckle. "And you my lady are finished!"

"Are you and Lydia like professional nail people? Like these look legit..." Allison said while she examined her nails.

I let out another laugh, "We've had a lot of practice."

I started cleaning up the mess of nail polish when my door began to creek open, revealing my sister. "Hey guys," Lydia said as her head slid into the door.

"Hey Lydia!"

"Oh hey, where have you been? I've been trying to get ahold of you..."

Lydia slowly walked in, staying near the door. "Oh, I had to go exchange a dress at the mall, cause yellow is so not my color. And then I was talking to a new neighbor."

I tilted my head to the side, "A new neighbor? Lydia you never welcome–oh wait, it's a boy isn't it?" I asked with a smirk.

"Maybe, it was so weird. You know how Prada is really good at not running off our property?"

I nodded lightly, "Yeah?"

"Well she ran off the other night when I was taking her out, and he ended up getting her for me..." She flipped her hair and moved closer to the door, "But I mean, I don't think he really seems like my type. Anyways, I'll leave you two girls to it, I have some online shopping to do before a sale ends and then i'm getting some shut eye. Love you!" she blew us each a kiss, and pranced her way down the hallway to her room.

"She's something else sometimes," Allison commented, "Autumn are you alright?"

"It's just weird Prada did that, she's so well trained."

Allison shrugged, "I wouldn't worry about it. At least your new neighbor came to the rescue. And I mean, maybe this is a good thing for Lydia. Ya know? With the breakup and everything..."

"I don't know, there's something still going on inside her and I have no idea what it is...and I just have this feeling that pretty soon we're going to have to tell her about all this supernatural crap. I wanted to keep her far away from it, but now she's right in the middle of it. It doesn't really seem like a good idea to drag some innocent boy into the world of the supernatural."
