Chapter Twenty Three

****

"Lydia, I need you to promise that you won't say anything about what just happened..." I said as I knelt down to the passenger seat window where Lydia was seated. After Jackson ran off being his Kanima self, Derek charged off after him, and Boyd lugged cool guy and mutt off to who knows where. Stiles and Scott, well they were just impatiently waiting for me at the jeep, where I am assuming we were going to go after Jackson also. Should be a great experience, our adventures are always fantastic bonding time.

"I'll promise not to say anything about what just happened, if you can tell me what just happened!!!"

I let out a groan, "It's–It's kind of complicated."

She cocked her head to the side at me with a hostile look on her face, "Well how about you start with why Derek was there? Or where Jackson went, or what was wrong with Erica?"

"Lydia, I need to go–"

"Oh? Do you need some time to come up with a plausible lie?" She said cutting me off.

I folded my arms across my chest, "Really Lydia?"

"Part of the reason why Autumn is asking, is because Scott and I aren't supposed to be seeing each other...Okay?" Allison spoke up from the drivers seat, "So it's better if you just keep what you know to yourself."

Lydia rolled her eyes out of frustration, "Fine. I'll keep what I know about you and your boyfriend, which is nothing, to myself."

I turned behind me to find a very impatient Stiles flashing his jeep lights, "Look I really do have to go...just um...take her home, Lydia I'll see you later."

I stomped my way to the jeep, and threw myself to the back. I was just overall annoyed, but more with myself than with Lydia. Of course she had all these questions, I still had a ton of questions too and I know about the supernatural. So I was more annoyed with myself for still keeping her in the dark about everything. Now that we know Jackson is the Kanima and not Lydia, maybe we can tell her now.

The jeep pulled away from the McCall house, and sped down the road. "What do we do now?" Stiles asked from the drivers seat.

I pulled myself up between the seats, "You're driving and you don't even know where we're going yet?"

"Well obviously going in the direction Jackson and Derek went in." Stiles retorted.

I rolled my eyes at the sarcasm coming from my boyfriend, I just wasn't in the mood right now no thanks to Lydia.

Moments later we found ourselves in this incredibly rough part of town, "Well this looks like it's going to go great," I said snarling my nose at a rat that had just ran into a dark alley. "Maybe we should–"

Before I could finish my statement Scott was running off sniffing Derek and the Kanima out, leaving Stiles and myself to fend for ourselves. Terrific.

"Well this is great!"

Stiles chuckled, intertwining our fingers "Hey, at least we get some alone time..."

I rolled my eyes once again at my boyfriend, but this time adding a small smile. "Nerd."

He gasped as we started to walk, "I'm seriously still scarlet nerded by Scott? I thought by being your boyfriend I would be promoted.."

I sent him a smirk, "If you wanna be promoted, you gotta work for it."I could see his adams apple jump, as a wink escaped my left eye.

Stiles and I had managed to walk around the entire outside of the building we were at, finding out that the Kanima had lead us to a club called The Jungle. I could faintly hear the sound of the music thumping outside.
