Vicki's POV

Jeremy and I are sitting at his kitchen table. He's sketching while I'm just reading a book, keeping him company.

The doorbell rings. Pizza!

Jeremy jumps up to get it.

"Hey. It's gonna be $22." The pizza man says as he goes to take out the pizza from the bag.

Jeremy looks up at the stairs and yells. "Elena, I need the money!" He turns back to the guy. "Uh, here. Come in. Just put it on the table." Stupid.

I whip my head up, looking at the man with a questioning gaze. Yep, it's him.

Jeremy walks back to the table and sits down as Elena comes down the stairs and pays. I slap his arm with the back of my hand and raise my eyebrow at him.

He looks confused but looks back at the guy then again at me as a lightbulb goes on in his head. "Sorry, I forgot." He mouths with an apologetic look.

Elena walks over with the pizza and we chow down. Elena has been a bit more civil after our road trip. She's gonna have to live with me being here, I'm not going anywhere.

The next day, I'm working my shift at the grill when Matt walks in.

"Hey Matty! Need a table?" I reach towards him to pull him into a hug.

"Nope, I'm going to apply here."

"Oh, what position?"

"Busboy."

"Nice, going to be fun working with your sister?"

He scoffs. "As long as you don't annoy me." He jokes with a smile. I giggle.

"Go to the bar, I'll bring over an application."

After I bring him his application I see Elena and Bonnie sitting at a table. They see me and wave with a small smile. I wave back, mostly at Bonnie.

Elena gets up and leaves and as Bonnie does too, Damon walks up to her. I roll my eyes and listen in.

"What do you want from me?" she asks with hostility.

"I think we need a fresh start."

"You tried to kill me."

"But I didn't, and if I wanted to, I would have. Does that not count for anything?" I scoff and walk over to them.

"Damon, I told you to leave her alone." She seems surprised that I'm helping her again. He just seems annoyed.

"Leave it be, Vicki. This is none of your business."

"It was my business the second you turned me into a vampire." I say low enough so that no one could hear except for Bonnie. She looks shocked at that information. I guess no one told her.
