Vicki's POV

We left early in the morning, arriving sometime later that night. We went directly to the Mikaelson mansion from the airport. When we get there, Nik is waiting for us in the living room.

"That was fast." He stands up from the couch, bringing us both into a hug.

I turn to look up at Kol. "Take our bags up?" He nods and leaves.

"How are you feeling?" I ask him.

"Completely fine." I raise an eyebrow at him, not convinced.

"It's alright now, I got my revenge." A small smirk makes its way onto his face.

He looks down at something and looks shocked. I follow his eyesight down to my hand, my ring.

I laugh. "Oh yeah, that happened."

He lifts my hand up, examining it. "Well now I can finally call you my sister, not like you aren't family already."

I smile as he brings me into another hug.

"I'm happy for you, really."

"Thank you Nik."

Kol reappears. "We should get some rest, we've been traveling all day."

"Right. Night, Nik. Talk to you tomorrow."

"Goodnight, sister."

The next morning, we are woken up by Rebekah storming into our room. She throws open the curtains, shining more light into the room.

I squint my eyes, groaning. "What the hell, Bekah?"

"Time to get up, I'm enlisting your help for something."

"Let me guess, we have to go to Whitmore?" I sit up, covering myself with a sheet.

She sighs. "Should've guessed you already knew. Yes, I need you to head over to grab a certain witchy professor."

I nudge Kol awake, he can honestly sleep through anything and I'm so jealous of it.

"We will get him for you but we are not helping any more than that. We won't help you find it."

She shrugs. "Fair enough." She starts walking out of the room, stopping at the door frame to look back. "I'm glad you're back, by the way." She smiles before leaving.

We take the long drive to Whitmore and find the professor's office.

As we walk in, he lifts up his head to look at us. "How can I help you?"

I tilt my head. "Oh, I can think of a few ways."

"Atticus Shane, is it?"

Shane tilts his head as recognition floods his face. "Kol Mikaelson. As I live and breathe."

"Let's cut the shit. Come on, up. We're leaving." I grab Shane by the arm, when he refuses, I simply knock him out so that Kol can carry him to the car.

Once situated, we start the journey back to Mystic Falls.

Shane wakes up and we head into the school, pulling him with us. I start to hear voices as we reach the library.

When we open the door and enter, all heads turn towards us.

"Sister... You're even worse than Nik." Kol takes in the scene in front of us.

"Kol, Tori, finally. Did you bring what I asked for?"

I pull him into the library with us and she smiles. "You must be Shane."

She grabs him and starts to leave with Kol but I stay put. "You coming with, darling?"

"Nope, I know you have it handled. I'm going to catch up with some friends." I give him a quick kiss before he leaves.

I then turn towards the three that are sitting around the table.

"I know why you're here Elena, but why are you two here? I thought you had called a truce with the Mikaelson's."

"She didn't compel us to be here, only Elena." Caroline states. "We are helping in the search for the cure."

"Is that what you're doing here?"

I scoff and sit down with them. "No, quite the opposite actually. But enough of that, how are you guys doing? I've been gone for a few months."

I look towards Elena. "How was the hunter's curse? Sounds like fun." I snicker.

She scowls at me. "Oh sorry, I'll change the subject. How's Alaric?"

That one sets her off. "I knew you had something to do with that! How could you?"

"The ring was still affecting him, had he tried to kill you yet?" She stays silent. "I thought as much. The effects of the ring are irreversible. He would've just kept killing and killing. And at some point, he would've gone after the originals. I couldn't let that happen."

I stand up, turning around and waving as I leave the library. I get to our car and wait in the passenger seat for Kol.

A few minutes pass and he comes in, the white oak in his hand.

"How did you get that?"

He takes out the keys and starts the car. "Doesn't matter, let's get out of here."

We pull out of the parking lot and start driving home.

It's silent for a few minutes before he finally speaks.

"We aren't helping them raise Silas."

"I know." I say softly, grabbing his hand that sat in the middle console. "I know."
