Vicki's POV

I'm an anxious mess today. I don't know if I can stop it in time but I'm hoping I can.

After Kol tried to kill Bonnie he came and got me. We are walking now, my hand in his. His phone rings and he sighs before answering it.

"Jeremy Gilbert. Nice to see I'm still on your speed dial, mate. Hey, you want to meet up at the batting cages in Denver?"

"Actually, It's Elena Gilbert." He looks at me with a smile and raised eyebrows.

"What a treat. Yeah, I was just thinking of all the clever ways I could have your brother killed, but I'd settle for ripping off his illustrated arm instead."

I look at him with a pleading look but he shakes his head and goes back to the phone call.

"I need to talk to you- in person. I want to call a truce in the name of Silas."

"You want to talk about Silas?"

"I'll meet you wherever you want. I'll come to you."

We walked up the steps to the door. "I'll tell you what. How about we come to you?"

"We?" He rings the doorbell.

"Open the door and invite me in. I'm waiting. Let me in and let's talk truce." Silence. "Hello?"

"Wouldn't it be kind of stupid to invite you in?"

"On the contrary. I can't kill your brother with my own two hands, or I'll suffer the hunter's curse and spend the next 20 years trying to off myself in gruesome ways. And I've heard that vervain's back in town, so I can't compel you to kill him either. So I think it's fair to say you're semi-safe, for now. Plus, my little Darling has already been invited in. If you want to face her wrath alone, be my guest."

We hear Jeremy say, "I'm the only one who can invite him inside."

"He's right, obviously."

Elena then opens the door.

"You'd think being alive for over 1,000 years would teach me some manners, but I couldn't resist stopping by."

"If I let you in, my brother goes. You're not getting near him."

"Fair enough."

"You can come in." He states before slipping out of the back door.

I walk over the threshold, still holding onto his hand. He follows behind me in a dramatic fashion. I have to stop myself from rolling my eyes.

"No gold medal for bravery, I see. Another thing I love about the modern age is music anytime you like. So, is the part where you offer me a drink so we can have a proper chat?"

After a bit, Kol gravitated towards the video games. He is amazing, of course.

I hear Elena walking up to us and turning around. "Sorry, I had to take out he old people's alcohol."

"Yeah, that's the problem with people today. They have no drinking imagination. Turn-of-the-century New Orleans... now, they knew how to make a drink."

"That sounds amazing." I smile at him and he smirks at me.

Our moment of course is interrupted. "You lived in New Orleans?"

"We all did, till Niklaus shoved a dagger in my heart."

"Why? What did you do?"

"He didn't do anything Elena." I glare at her.

While Kol is making a drink, I'm sulking on the couch. I'm trying to go over any possible outcome in my head. I have my magic, that makes me stronger than them. I can beat them.

"Trust me Elena, some things are better left buried."

He pulls me up off the couch and takes me with him.

When we get down the street, he stops and turns me towards him.

"I love you with all my heart, darling."

"I love you too. What brought this up?"

He caresses my cheeks with his hands and bends down to give me a soft kiss on the lips.

"Please forgive me."

I look at him confused. "Wha-" Everything went black.

I wake up with a gasp and look at the time. "No!"

I jump up and speed towards the Gilbert house. As I reach the door, I see Nik coming.

I speed into the house and see Jeremy holding the stake and Elena holding Kol down. Kol looks me in the eyes and mouths "I'm sorry."

I scream and use my magic to throw Elena away from him. But I'm too late. Jeremy has already staked him.

I feel my soul being ripped into two, it feels as if I'm on fire. I let out a glass shattering scream, shaking the house. After my energy has gone, I fall to the ground and grip at my chest.

Two pairs of arms grab me from behind. I thrash in their hold, trying to get free. Chains are put on my wrists, I know what these are. As I'm looking at my wrists in shock, I feel myself being pushed into a room.

I look around and see that I'm in the living room, Bonnie has just finished spelling in, causing us to be trapped.

I banged on the barrier, anger coursing through my veins. "SILAS WILL KILL YOU!" I look straight at Jeremy. "I've seen it! You shouldn't have just made me your enemy when I know when each of you will die!"

They all slow to a stop, turning slowly with looks of shock on their faces. At this point I'm so enraged, I'm laughing. I cackle as I turn my attention towards Elena. In between laughs I say, "Maybe you're next."

Bonnie pushes her forward, urging her to keep walking. "If Silas doesn't kill you, I will!"

I keep laughing as they all leave and Nik continues to pound his fists against air. I laugh until I can't breathe. I'm gasping for air. I claw at my throat as I fall to the floor. I slowly crawl to the other side of the living room, putting my hand on the barrier as I stare at his ashes.

I sob, putting my hands over my mouth to quiet the sounds. I feel arms wrap around me, Nik rocks me back and forth, whispering things in my ear. I can't hear what he's saying though, I can only focus on my fiancés remains, not even three feet away.

At some point my sobs turn into soft cries and then nothing. I lay on my side facing Kol and slowly close my eyes.
