The Return

I explained everything.

"And you won't hurt me?" She asks in a small voice.

I move to sit next to her on the bed. "Of course not Care, you're my friend. I would never hurt you. I am actually here to heal you."

"Really? How?"

"Vampire blood has healing properties."

"Is that why I feel better?"

"Yeah, I was feeding you my blood before you woke up."

She stays silent for a moment before she speaks up again. "You said that Stefan and Damon are too, who else knows?"

"Elena, Jeremy, Matt, Bonnie. She's also a witch."

"Oh."

"Oh?"

"I kind of thought I would be upset that they kept it from me but I'm not."

"Listen, I need to go for the night but I'll see you tomorrow and we'll talk more okay?"

She smiles and leans in for a hug. "Okay. Thank you for healing me."

"Of course Care."

I headed to the Gilbert house once again tonight to check on Jeremy and to see if Katherine will show up again.

I walk up the steps as I see Damon and the real Elena walk up as well.

"Fancy seeing you here." They turn around and look at me in confusion. "We'll come on then!"

I twist the door knob and open it, walking in. Just as I expected, Stefan is on the floor, popping his arm back into place.

"Stefan?"

He stands up. "Elena."

"What happened?"

I close the door and walk in further. "Katherine happened." He looked at me and I smirked. "Am I right?"

He nods and I walk upstairs to go see Jeremy.

I knock three times on his door and open it once I hear him yell. "Come in!"

He's sitting on his bed with his sketchbook out.

"Hey, do anything special tonight?"

He puts down his pencil. "Like what?"

I walk over and sit on his bed. "Uhh, I don't know, maybe like trying to kill yourself?" I say nonchalantly.

"What are you talking about?"

I breathe out a sigh of relief. "Good, I had a vision that you would but I'm guessing Anna and Pearl leaving town stopped it from happening." I mumbled the last bit.

I go to hug him and he pushes me away with a laugh, putting his headphones on. "You're weird."

I laugh and head out of his room just as Elena walks in. I go down to the living room and plop down on the couch listening to the brothers talk.

"She said that she at least had someone on her side."

"Hmm wonder who she could be talking about?" I spoke up from my spot on the couch.

"What, do you know something?"

"I may or may not have hung out with her earlier tonight, I was here before she attacked John."

He gave me a puzzled look and was about to say something else before Elena came down saying that she told Jeremy.

"Katherine was here. That means she's been invited in. What are we going to do?"

"Move." I snicker and elbow Damon.

"Look. Katherine wants you dead, zero you could do about it. You would be dead, but you're not. So clearly she has other plans."

"Right and we need to find out what those other plans are and not provoke her in the process."

Stefan stands over by Elena's sitting form and looks at me. "You said that you were here earlier. We both know that you don't like Elena so why would you hang out with her?"

I stay silent and raise my eyebrows at him, waiting for him to get it.

Damon understands before Stefan can. "You knew it was her, didn't you? That's why you made me leave?"

I look of realization goes onto Stefan's face. "Why would you willingly be near her? Did you provoke her? Why didn't you tell anyone?"

I ignore Stefan's question for now and look at Damon. "Yes, Dame that's why I told you to leave. She would've done something to you." I look at Stefan and Elena. Elena has a betrayed look on her face, I had to stop myself from laughing. "And sorry I didn't tell you earlier but I was kind of busy, oh with saving Caroline's life and what not."

"It was you who healed her?"

"Yes Elena, I wouldn't have let her die." I look at her incredulously. "Once again, I know something and you don't trust me enough to help you. So I'm going to leave before you attack me or something."

I leave the house, pulling Damon with me. We both head home to get some sleep.

The next day, I didn't feel like going to a funeral for a dickhead so I went to see Caroline again.

We've been sitting and watching jersey shore. I've been telling her about my "visions" of the future and that she becomes a vampire. She seems to like the idea which is weird but yet again, she is much better as a vampire.

"So Care, Katherine is coming to the hospital tonight." I pause and turn to her. "To kill you."

"What?!"

"You do have my blood in your system though. If you aren't ready, I can stay tonight and stop her."

"No, no. I want this. I think."

"Okay, I will come by tomorrow with a daylight ring and I can help you with control and stuff."

She takes a deep breath. "Okay. You can leave, I'll be fine."

"You sure?"

"Yeah!"

"Okay, I'll send pictures of my rings that I have at home and just tell me your favorite so I can bring it tomorrow."

She beams at me. "Thank you. See you tomorrow."

I sigh and walk out. Weirdo .
