Season 6 - Episode 2: Undercover

"Thanks for being here."

You smiled, "Of course! And thank you for.. taking me out to dinner." You responded, slightly nervous.

It was your second month going undercover. You had been spending time with Rowan a lot, getting as much trust and information from him as you could.

Rowan looked at you, smiling softly. You smiled back at him before looking down nervously. Rowan looked at you, concerned as he noticed your body language change. "Hey, are you alright?" He asked you gently, his eyebrows furrowed as he looked at you worriedly. Your stomach turned when he placed his hand on yours.

You looked up to him, "Oh! Yeah, I'm completely fine." You waved it off as you cracked a nervous grin. Bradley raised an eyebrow at you, "Are you sure?" He asked again, still concerned. You nodded again, "Rowan, I swear I'm fine, hun. Don't worry." You reassured him.

Rowan sighed, "Alright." He responded. Though, he couldn't help but smile when you called him hun.

Of course, your special nicknames are reserved for your special someone.

"That's actually really funny!"

Rowan nodded and chuckled, "Yeah! My brother hates it whenever I tell the story to anyone, but his reactions are always worth it." He grins and winks at you, making you chuckle. You couldn't help but blush slightly as he winked and grinned at you. If you had to be honest, he was pretty charming.

Though, he is a wanted criminal and you're very loyal to the NYPD and you love your Jayden more than anything.

So, you didn't really like him as much, even though he was rather handsome. You still had to keep up the act either way.

You continued to talk to Rowan. You both laughed together a few times as you told each other funny stories. As you were both talking, you saw a waiter with a familiar face. Once you recognised their face, your eyes widened. You didn't want him to be here, nor did you think he was supposed to be here.

Though either way, you were going to have a very serious talk with Zane when you go back to your apartment.

Rowan noticed your concerned expression. His eyebrows furrowed before looking behind himself, which was the direction you were looking in. When he didn't see anyone, he looked back at you. "Is everything okay?.." He asked, concerned. You snapped out of your trance and looked back at him.

"Oh! Uh.. Y-Yeah, I'm fine!" You reassured, forcing a smile while also taking a couple of glances back at Zane.

Rowan raised an eyebrow at you, "Are you sure?.." He asked, placing his hand on top of yours, making you gulp slightly.

You looked down at his hand before looking back at him, forcing a slight smile and nodding,

"Yeah.. I'm fine."

"Ah, good to see you again, Agent Knox."

Zane looked over to you and away from the food he prepared for himself, "I have a feeling that was sarcastic." He said nervously.

"Of course it was sarcastic!" You snapped, making Zane flinch slightly. "I told you that I am perfectly fine with taking care of myself." You bickered before you continued to complain him. Zane's anger started to build up inside of him as well, his eyebrows narrowed and a frown began to form on his face.

"I didn't need your help at all!" You shouted, turning back to Zane.

This is when Zane lost it.

Zane scoffed, "Well, I'm sorry for trying to help. I'm sorry for trying to protect you." They snapped, "I'm sorry for caring about you and your safety!" They continued. You looked at him, shocked by his sudden outburst. He never really shouted at you like this whenever you argued about something.

"And I am so incredibly sorry for falling in love with you!" Zane shouted.

You looked at him with wide eyes, "W-What?.." You immediately said as your eyebrows furrowed slightly, "Y-You fell in love with me?" You asked in shock as your voice cracked a bit. Zane nodded immediately, tears beginning to form in their eyes as they looked at you.

"When I first saw you, I immediately fell in love with you. Every time I see you, I fall more and more in love with you each time." Zane began to ramble.

Your eyes then began to fill up with tears of guilt, "Zane, I-"

"I'm not finished yet." He interrupted before he continue to ramble.

"You always make my stomach flutter every time you look at me, your smile brightens my day, you being you just makes me so incredibly in love with you. Every time I see you with Rowan, my heart breaks every single time." Zane continued, "And y'know I always wish that you could be mine-"

"Zane!" You immediately shouted. Zane snapped his head towards you, "What?!" He exclaimed, looking back at you.

"I.." You sighed and looked down as you tears of guilt flowed from your eyes.

"I already have someone else." You looked back at Zane. They looked at you in disbelief, "Wait.. What?.." They said as their voice cracked. You nodded,

"I already have someone to love.."
