( A/n : Soooo, I kind of have a crush on my best friend, but she has a boyfriend. Yeah, yeah, you've heard it before. I made this to make me feel better 🏳️‍🌈)

(Also, this is kind of a 'love at first sight' thing, which I don't really do that much, but I thought it was cute anyways)

(C/n = Crush name)

There she was

Y/n stood dumbfounded on the side of the dance floor, her heart felt like it broke into two. This is stupid, she knows it's stupid.
Buts she's had a crush on C/n since the fifth grade, it's been years, and it still hurts so much.

She sighed, but she kept looking, as much as she told herself to stop, to just let it go. She was taken, and she didn't like girls, just let it go.

But no, she couldn't, and she saw them kiss.

She felt her heart break, a dull ache inside of her chest as a lump caught in her throat. She kissed him, she really kissed him.

Y/n looked down at the ground for a moment, before she decided that this crowded gym wasn't the place she wanted to be. She walked towards the gym doors, wiping the single tear that somehow slipped out of her iron walls. Little did Y/n know, Max watched her the whole time, her face drowning in concern as her crush walked out of the gym doors.

"I'll be right back." Max said to Lucas, Will, and Dustin before she went around all of the dancing bodies and out of the gym doors behind Y/n slowly. She was sitting on the concrete steps outside of the gym her body shaking from the cold Max immediately felt when she stepped outside.

Max felt her heart break as she heard Y/n sniff, her cries small but noticeable. She slowly took a step towards the girl she has liked as soon as she got to town, then another, then another, until she was standing right beside Y/n's sitting body.

She sat down beside her, both of their legs stretching down two steps.

"Hey." Max spoke barely above a whisper, and Y/n slowly turned to her, her eyes bright with tears and her cheeks red.

"Hi, Max." Y/n had never spoken to Max before, but she knew about her, she was in both her English and Science classes. Had Max always had these beautiful blue eyes?

Oh shut up Y/n. Just shut up.

"Are you alright." Max asked as Y/n pulled her legs up to her chest, crossing her arms under the bottom of her long skirt.

"Yeah. I'm fine. You don't have to be out here with me Max, you can go inside and go dance."

"I know." Max nodded, her small small making Y/n's heart pound, which scared her for a minute as Max continued. "I just want to make sure that you're okay."

"I- um." Y/n stuttered, the breeze making her hair blow in her face before she pushed it behind her ear. "It's just- I know it's dumb but, my crush." Y/n paused, almost laughing at herself. " She didn't want to dance with me, and she kissed the boy she liked."

"She didn't wanna dance with you?" Max asked, and Y/n shook her head with a sigh.

"Well she's stupid then." Max's rosy cheeks shined as the butterflies in her stomach danced under the e/c eyes of Y/n L/n.

"What?" Y/n mumbled, blinking her wet eyes, causing a tear to drip down her cheek.

"She's stupid. You look beautiful tonight, and if she doesn't like you back that's her fault." Max told Y/n as she fully turned to her, the fact that the red head called her beautiful made Y/n's heart flutter.

"Do I really look beautiful?"

"Hell yeah!" Max paused for a moment, contemplating if she would ask the question she wanted to. Her brain told her the dangers of asking, but her heart told her that she liked the girl, and that she was all she wanted.

Max took a deep breath, before looking back at Y/n's glistening eyes. "Do you wanna dance with me?"

Y/n's eyes widened, before she nodded, smiles lighting up both of their faces as Max stood up, holding her hand out for the h/c haired girl. Y/n grabbed her icy hand with her own, giving the ground a goofy smile as Max led her inside, the feeling of their hands cupped together made Y/n's stomach butterflies shoot into action as they walked through the dance floor. ' Just the two of us' played as Max put her hands on Y/n's waist, Y/n putting her hands on Max's shoulders awkwardly, her palms sweaty.

Max pulled her closer, almost chuckling at Y/n's nervous nature. "Am I already making you nervous?" She teased as the two of them slow danced, Y/n's face heating up as she looked down at the floor.

Max stared at Y/n, looking in awe as her puppy eyes looked back up into her electric blue eyes. Y/n bit her lip, did she like Max? There's no way she could fall for her so quickly? But she was so beautiful, her blushing pink face making her look even cuter in the light.

Y/n grinned, and leaned it, pressing her lips against Max's cheek. "Thank you Max, this is perfect." Y/n smiled when she pulled away, Max looking at her wide eyed before her mouth slithered into a grin, this was everything she's ever wanted.

Y/n could help it anymore, the two of them leaning into each other, pulling towards each other like magnets. Their lips connected, and sparks flew, feeling as if this moment was meant to be, that they were meant to be.

Y/n completely forgot about C/n as they let go, and now she realized as she looked into her eyes, she's belonged with her, the whole time. She's wasted all of her love, all of her self chasing after someone who would never love her, and now, someone how cares for her, for who she really is, and she's standing right in front of her, the taste of her strawberry chapstick plastered on Y/n's lips.

(A/n: Not that you care but I wrote this while watching the Bobs Burgers movie and I was caught so off guard by the fact that it was a musical, but it saw so good)
