"Dad! I'm home"

"Hey! Are you okay? Are you still sick? "

"What? " I said confused.

"You said you woke up sick?"

Oh crap...

"Oh- Uh yeah, I'm fine now"

My father looked me with a suspicious look.
I took out my phone and checked the time, 2:48.

"Oh! Dad I'm gonna be in my room, if anyone is at the door. I'll get it, I'm expecting someone"

"Uh okay?"

I walked upstairs and went in my room to just read a book on my phone.

~ 1 hour later ~

Knock knock knock

'Dammit! He's here!'

I rushed downstairs and fixed myself up a bit and then opened the door.

Cameron was waiting outside.

"Woah! You look horrible" I spat out.

"Thanks for the recap" Cameron said, slumping over my shoulder.

"What happened to you" I asked him.

"I got no sleep last night, I was thinking of you"

"Wait what-"

"Brooke who's that?" My father asked.

I tensed up after hearing his voice behind me.
I pushed Cameron off of me, and turned around to face him.

"Dad! Uhhh, this is the 'friend' I've been hanging out with the past few days."

"Why is he here?"

"Because... " I trailed off. Trying to figure out a lie.

"We're study buddies! " Cameron popped in.

"Oh... " my father said.

"Uh yeah! Let's go upstairs Cameron"

I grabbed his hand and took him upstairs to my room.

"So why weren't you at school today"

"I was sick"

"Liar, you're avoiding me"

I turned around and looked at him shocked. It's like he can read me like a book.

"How'd you-"

"Why are trying to avoid me" he looked at me seriously

"I was trying to... " I trailed off

He was inching closer to me and I stared into his eyes. This feeling is back.

I looked up so my eyes could meet his, dumb height difference.

He leaned in and his eyes fluttered shut and he was about to kiss me when I pushed him back softly.

"Oh- uh sorry" he said, rubbing the back of his head.

"No, I'm sorry. I should've never even kissed you yesterday"

"Heh, funny story. That was my first kiss" he looked down at his lap.

"Mine too! Ha! Ironic isn't it" I chuckled.

I sat down on my bed and he sat next to me.

"It's so weird because you're supposed be my enemy. "

"Seriously! It's crazy! "

"And it's like we're best friends now... Well kinda"

He chuckles.

I lean myself and put my head on Cameron's shoulder. He looked down at me and a little smile appeared in his face. And I got a good look at his dimples.

"Aww, look at your little dimples! "

He instantly stopped smiling.

"I don't like them, there like holes drilled into your face"

I stood up.

"What are you talking about! They're adorable! " I said, lifting his face up to make him smile.

"Now go to bed, you look horrible" I said pushing him so he's laying down on my bed

I then left the room so I can get some snacks.

"Hows the studying going? " my dad said.

I flinched because I didn't hear him come up behind me.

"It's good, I'm just getting us some snacks."

"What are you studying?"

My eyes widened.

"How the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell." I covered that smoothly. Go Brooke!

"Didn't you learn that already?"

"It's a review!" I said rushing upstairs with my snacks.

When I got upstairs. I turned on my TV and just ate my snacks.
