Amelia exclaimed, "You're all set!" As I gazed at my reflection, my eyes widened in amazement. I had impeccably applied eyeliner, a blush that complemented my complexion flawlessly, and a tinted lip balm with a glossy finish. I couldn't believe I looked this good. I wondered where all these beauty products came from."Wow, I look amazing! Thank you, Amelia," I said as I admired myself in the mirror.

"Yeah, you do. But you need to hurry up and put some shoes on. It's 6:47!" Amelia checked her phone.

I quickly got up from my seat and rushed downstairs to where my shoes were. I put on my white Converse and watched Amelia and Jay come downstairs. "Cameron is spamming my phone talking about how busy he is. Look," Jay showed me his phone.

Cami🤓: bruh come over

I know ur not busy

when are you ever busy

are you making out with amelia

i need help please

i have a date with brooklyn

you never answer at my times of need

your not invited to my birthday party😡🖕

I giggled and shook my head as I read the messages. I finished tying my shoe as I stood up as the doorbell rang. A wave of panic rushed over my body and all my confidence disappeared. That must've been obvious since Amelia said something about it. "Are you about to chicken out?"

"You better not. You already know he likes you back so there is nothing to worry about," Jay reassured me.

"Fine," I turned around and looked at the door. I contemplated opening the door before I eventually had to.

There stood Cameron who looked at me absolutely astonished. "Woah, you look stunning."

"Thank you!" I excitedly said.

"I...I bought you flowers. You said you loved tulips before so I bought them for you."

My heart fluttered as I began to speak"You truly remember everything, huh?" I giggled. "Come in, while I put these in water."

He walked inside and I heard Cameron sigh. "So, you were here?"

"I was forced to stay by her" Jay pointed at Amelia.

"Don't lie, you had free will!" Amelia retorted.

Cameron and I laughed at the arguing couple. "You guys resolve that on your own. Cameron and I are on our merry way" I said and with that, we left the arguing couple.

"Woah, I haven't been here in a while," I said as we approached the carnival.

We both walked up to the ticket booth and Cameron handed the worker a twenty-dollar bill as I continued looking around at the lights in awe. It feels so nostalgic.

"C'mon, Brooke," Cameron called me back to his side and handed me a ticket.

We entered the carnival through the massive gates and observed the various games, snack stalls, rides, and young children experiencing a sugar high. Delightful.

"What ride do you want to get on first?" Cameron asked me with a grin on his face.

"Well, not the swings because you're afraid of heights, so I guess we can go on the scrambler," I recommend.

"I might throw up again," Cameron chuckled awkwardly.

We both shared a laugh before walking through the carnival trying to find different rides to go on.

~Time Skip~

Cameron and I shared a thing of fries while sitting on a bench. "What ride do you want to go on next?" I asked Cameron.

"The Ferris Wheel?" Cameron suggested.

"But you're afraid of heights, and you just finished eating. Why choose the Ferris Wheel?"

"I'll do it for the sake of this date so will you hurry up and finish your fries?"

I hurried and scarfed down the rest of the fries so Cameron and I could be on our way to the Ferris wheel.

"Next riders!"

Cameron and I started to walk into a pod and sat down. I noticed the very obvious nervous look on Cameron's face. "We can still get off if you want to Cam," I reminded him.

"I'm fine. I just won't look outside."

"Alright,"

The ride started and I thought it was the perfect, romantic moment to ask Cameron the big question. I plucked up the courage to finally ask. "Cameron?" I called for him.

"Yeah?"

"You know how both of our feelings for each other are mutual, right?

"Yes," Was all he said.

His dry responses made me feel less confident in what I needed to say. I needed to remember that he probably isn't focused on me, he focused on not freaking out on this carnival ride. "Well, I was wondering if we can sta--"

"Yes," He cut me off.

"What?"

"I would love to."

"You don't even know what I was gonna say," I told him.

He looked at me, expressionless. "So, you weren't just about to ask me to be your boyfriend?"

"I mean, I was. But you could've at least let me finish."

"You probably didn't know what you were saying in the first place. And now you have a boyfriend, so don't complain." He finished.

I guess he's right.

The ride slowly came to an end after going in two full circles. Cameron and I waited to get off the ride (Cameron took his sweet time to exit the pod in fear of him falling out and snapping his neck and breaking his pinky).

Cameron and I made our way back to the front gates of the carnival to declare our date over.

"Tonight was fun," Cameron smiled at me.

"It was," I smiled back at him and closed my eyes before leaning in. To my surprise, I got harshly smacked in the face. It wasn't that dramatic, he pushed my face away and backed up.

I opened my eyes and saw Cameronhunched over a nearby trashcan, throwing up his french fries.

I waddled over to the vending machine and paid for a water bottle. I walked back over to the sick boy who was still hunched over the trashcan. I slowly rubbed his back as he hurled. "Nostalgic, huh?"

"Go away," He managed to say. I chuckled as he continued to puke.
