chapter thirty two

George's pov
I wondered around in my room thinking of how I would arrive  home and try my mom's homemade cookies,they are amazing.At the same time the woods finding out that they have a dad and another brother who have been around them all along is another surprise to them and speaking of surprises I received one just now .

"Oh hey Mr hunter, "I say fully surprised by the sudden visit,my first encounter was not pleasant at all,I wonder how it went when I left  Amber with him,I just hope he wasn't that harsh with her,but now I don't have to worry about that cause he is her father after all.

"Hey...I know we got off on the wrong foot the last time,but who knew I was just surprised you didn't punch me too."he replied and we had a good laugh out of that. I don't like people describing me as "the  guy who punched the principal " but this school has been generous to me, cause my reputation was left in my previous school except the few like my principal who had to remind me but as long as Amber believes in me,I have no regret because if it could have not happened I wouldn't be here now.

"Yeah ,well some things have got to change you know,"I reply with a smile,I thought talking to him would be very hard but turns out am wrong about that.

"Yeah and speaking of change,I heard from Bridget you wanted to go back to your hometown with Amber,a little smitten, aren't we?" He teases me but I decide to have a straight face now,this is her father am talking to,any mistake and I'll have to be answerable to him.

I nod and he continues,"we , I mean I wanted us to have a reunion picnic as a family which you are welcome to come too this weekend and maybe you can plan for your trip later,please,"he said and I nodded thinking of how this was important to him as well as Amber too.

"Are you sure my presence won't interfere with your family reunion,"I ask and he nods," okay I'll be there,thanks for the invitation,"I continue.

"No thank you for giving me an opportunity to reunite with them." He says standing up and I followed too," you know she said the truth,you have really changed,"he says closing the door behind him and I am puzzled ,who knows I've changed...eh maybe Mrs wood because I've never seen him talking to the wood siblings at all.

I decide to visit my favorite person in the world and I find her by the pool, deep in thoughts. She looks stunning with her hair on a ponytail but I prefer it just down and having worn a large hood and shorts which makes her sexy legs stand out,she is truly blessed,she is just here physically  yet looks so far away like she wants to escape. I bet she doesn't want some talk for her to appreciate what she has instead of what she could have lost ,so I sit silently by her side , hoping my presence won't be a nuisance.

"Hi..." She says calmly and I just smile back at her,she is trying to hold herself up but looks as if she is giving up at the same time.

"You know you can just let it go, especially when you have a crying shoulder to cry on,"I said pointing towards me and she gives me a weak smile shoving me then returned to her serious face.

"Let go of what,the fact that this all seems like a lie or the fact you don't consider this your home too,"she finally speaks and my heart goes to her,oh I bet she thought when I said that we should go to my home it got to her that's why she was crying that night,how selfish am I.

"Am sorry,I didn't mean that this wasn't my home,you know that, let's say I was excited to go back to California with you ,"I said and then and there she looked at me right in the eyes as if she wasn't sure I was telling the truth and finally   signed.

"Am sorry for judging you, forgive me,I thought that getting away will take my pain away,I don't like to be kept in the dark you know that of all the people, remember how Henry just assured me that everything was fine but he was sick,I didn't know anything till when he... What could you have done,if you were me" Amber breaths before losing it and hold her as she cries endlessly.

"Dude tell her before it's too late,"I told Henry at his house,he avoided Amber for two weeks saying his family had gone to Australia and warned me not to tell her,he had gone for therapy and it was driving him nuts not tell her of his diagnosis
"Then what! Wait for her to leave me like Alexa left you,"he replied angrily and instead of firing back at him I just signed.
"Well Alexa got bored and left not because I don't even know the reason but maybe Amber is different, don't judge her,please ,some of the mistakes that happened won't happen,I thought you trusted her dude,"I reply and he shakes his head .
"No I won't go back to trusting people not after what Rose did to me, everyone knows George,who doesn't and at the same time they backbite me,this whole town knows am sick thanks to Rose but am just surprised that Amber has not heard the rumors. Dude take care care of her if anything ever happens to her,"he says and I nod to assure him that it's ok and it will always be.

"Hey,snacks are over here,"mrs wood says and keeps quiet when she notices amber in my arms,she has already fallen asleep,seems like she is ready to face people now,the tears wiped all the anger out , that's all am hoping for from her,to be herself again.

"Hey... please stay,thanks . Now you see how ugly I look when I cry,"she still has the strength to joke right now.

"You are beautiful when you cry and also when you are happy,you should know that,"I whisper kissing her forehead and laid next to her watching her fall asleep again and I won't lie,I love the scene in front of me and without knowing I find myself falling asleep there too.
