chapter fourteen

"Eddie we can hang out before we reach home,which place do you have in mind." I started after the long silence in the car when I picked him from the school,we hadn't spoken with each other till now. And two weeks had already passed, see how time flies.

"Uh ... We can go to the park we used to go," he answered smiling and made me smile,well you know smiles are contagious.

"For the rest of the time we sat on the bench  at the park silently watching kids playing on the playground and it was so nostalgic where I remember playing with Alicia but she didn't appreciate my efforts for making a sand castle,I wonder why she was always like alone all the time and refused to talk to anyone. Anyway after an hour we decided to head home. We started to converse with him.

"Am sorry bro for ignoring you during the time Henry died . I was hurt,I felt that everyone knew Henry was sick except me,do you know heartbroken I was finding I was left in the dark , shattered,lost hope, I thought that you'd all think am crazy like Alicia always says at school," i said finally letting it all out and Eddie signed.

"No we don't think you are crazy Alicia is the one who is crazy, you can't just go around announcing that someone is crazy and you are not looking at what your thoughts can do to other people for Christ sake,she lucks common sense." He said and I had to laugh at what he just said.

"Remind me how many years are you," I asked and he rolled his eyes at me.

"Fourteen  I'll be fifteen next month so don't think am too young sister," he said and I laughed even more.

"I missed having a conversation with you bro I guess you did too." I inquired and he nodded smiling broadly.

" Oh please I only did this because you requested me to talk, "he said and I rolled my eyes at his remarks before he continued ,"Hey...am so you and Garcia... are you together or something is going on between you both." He snapped and I looked at him through the rear mirror.

"How old are you again?" I asked and he snorted."Anyway there is nothing going on between us I think so bro and am sure he takes me as his friend,"I said and winced at the thought of that.

"But you wouldn't take him as your friend,would you?" He asked and I was quiet, I wanted to deny right before my bro but why can I do that to him after he got mad at me for keeping my feelings about Henry's death to myself no way.

"I guess not,he is different, also my friend and he is handsome-" I stopped myself before I went any further with that.

"Ooh Amber's got a crash on someone," he teased and I shook my head.

"It isn't like that,can't I compliment on my friend, like you are also handsome bro." I said and he looked surprised.

"You think so," he asked and I nodded of course he is handsome and I love that he really trust me.

"So that means you don't have anything for him and  it's just friendship, "he asked and just as I was about to reply my door was opened and there stood George waiting for me to climb out of the car. I gave Eddie an apologetic smile before standing and was immediately given a cuddle from George.

" what was that for."I asked him and he smiled.

"Because I love you," he said and my heart beats faster,but I remembered maybe he meant in a brotherly affection.

"Amber know that I will always be here for you even in your darkest hours and I love you," Eddie said and I felt a tears escape my eyes.

"Aww,come here ," I said to him and embraced him tightly."I love you too bro,"I said and afterwards we went to the house and heard our afternoon snack then went to compete a game.
