Chapter twenty eight

Amber's POV
Eight hours earlier.

"Mom! Am fine really,its just a ...achoo!achoo! ,sneeze." I said to mom before sneezing again.

"No that is not a sneeze honey,its more of a cold and with that you are staying home no arguments dear." Mom said going forth to my drawer and searching for a thermometer.

Today was supposed to be cheer competition and I couldn't miss it for the world,or else the girls would think I changed my mind again even after reuniting with them,I wanted to go and support them,I was still in the team,though I hadn't practice their routine.

"Mom I can't miss this day of school, I made up with the girls and today is their cheer day, I can't miss it .I promise if I get more sick I'll call you from the school or tell George to bring me back please mom." I pleaded with her but she couldn't take any of it.

"That is sweet honey but no,you'll not get out of here till you are ok am I clear," she said and I sneezed to affirm making her to laugh at me.

"Apparently you are heating up so I'll send George up with some painkillers and you will sleep." Mom said moving to my door and closing it behind her. I groaned on my pillow, how did I end up getting sick, I don't know,did I get rained on ,well nope but did I get sprayed on .that's a big yes. Apparently yesterday when I got back from tutoring Hugh, who kept staring me that I thought I had a zit on my face and he concentrated less,thank the lord Guy showed up and proposed that he would help me with Hugh, I thanked him big ,but the look on Hugh's face said all how he didn't want a third party but who cares not me.

Also yesterday was supposed to be my first date with George, but after I reached home both him and Eddie attacked me with water guns and I had to run from them,it was  so torturing but a good thing mom found them red handed and they were grounded for the night  and were added chores to do after supper,I felt sorry for them .when I tried to help them mom scolded me that I went to my room to listen to Radio 3:16 and afterwards I was able to sleep.

Now the thing I never expected was waking up with a cold and my mom scolding too but the thing that made me smile was Alicia's letter of getting better soon under my door,I was beyond surprised at first and then came to think that God changes people and I was happy for her.

"Come in", I said and George appeared with a glass of water and some pills but was avoiding eye contract with me I didn't blame him,no one wanted to look at a sick person.

" Hi your mom gave me strict instructions to make sure you drink your medicine and make sure you sleep full time. "He said I nodded taking the medicine and drinking it,then laid straight on my back staring at my ceiling.

George cleared his throat and I looked at him." Sorry I thought you had left,"I lied but I know he could see through the lie,I didn't blame him really.

"Chasing me too soon eh!" He said and I gave a weak laugh at his tone."Anyway I want to say sorry for yesterday, we shouldn't have attacked you like that,but seeing you screaming like that was hilarious-"he said as I sent him a glare and he cleared his throat apologising.

"Its ok Eddie apologized a hundred times before he went to sleep." I said and he nodded,"if you are still wondering I forgave you both."I said and he signed with relief.

"Also with the date,I wanna apologize for bailing on you we can go tomorrow, when you become well,I promise you ,this time for real." He said and I smiled, I really loved how he chanted carelessly ,it made him look more handsome,then an idea landed on my head.

"What about today,I want you to sneak me out and back in before mom comes back,please I really wanna see the girls ,its their special day and I don't want to miss it ." I pleaded with him.
