Shivaay typed away on his laptop and every 30 minutes, glanced at the picture of his wife and daughter. Initially after Shivika's birth, Shivaay didn't take a single work call for a month, then he started working from home and went to office only for important tasks. Now that Shivika was 4 months old, Anika urged him (read: kicked his ass) to go to office regularly to get back into his routine.
In all honesty, Shivaay missed his office and professional environment that his home office lacked. He was able to complete work much faster and in-person meeting were a lot better than online ones. Best part? He could leave work at work and give his daughter undivided attention when he got home. Maybe back to work wasn't so bad.
Ding!
A notification pulled his attention towards his phone.
Bade Papa: Urgent meeting in my office.
Shivaay saved his work and headed towards Tej's office. He was a bit worried as Tej seldom called him for meetings. He reached his office where Tej, Jahnvi, Shakti, Mrs Sharma from PR and their lawyer, Mr Desai were present.
Shivaay: What's going on Bade Papa?
Tej: *rubbing forehead* Bareilly.
Shivaay: What?! Ab kya ho gaya?
Shakti: Construction site par kaam ruk gaya hain kyoonki logon ne dharna de diya hain.
Shivaay: Likin woh zameen toh legally humari hain.
Mr Desai: Legally, yes. Woh zameen Mr Omkara Singh Oberoi ne Late Mr Kali Thakur se acquire ki thi.
Hearing the name, a shiver rand down TejVi and Shivaay's spine.
Mrs Sharma: Us zameen par bahti se logon ki dukaane thi jinhe kam notice par zabardasti evict kara diya gaya tha. It's a small town and because Kali Thakur ne zameen evict karayi thi, kisi ne tab kuch bola nahi. But now that they know he's dead, they're protesting. Unhe apna karobaar us zameen par waapis shuru karna hain.
Shivaay let out an angry gruff. That man wrecked havoc in their lives and trouble didn't seem to end long after his death.
Tej: Wahaan ke supervisor se situation control nahi ho rahi. I'll have to fly in and see to it myself.
Jahnvi: Tej, you shouldn't. Tumhara blood pressure already high, doctor ne stress lene se mana kiya hain.
Tej: Jab tak matter resolve nahi hota, mujhe yahaan baithe-baithe bhi stress hoga.
Shakti: Bhaisahab, mujhe lagta hain Om ko bhejna chahiye. Deal usne ki thi toh use situation sambhalne mein asaani hogi.
Shivaay: No no no! Om ko bhejna is a very bad idea.
The S.O.s turned towards Shivaay with a raised eyebrow.
Shakti: Kyoon?
Shivaay: Om is... rather unpopular in Bareilly.
Shivaay had no better way of explaining how Om had kidnapped the bride from her own wedding and eloped with her... 3 times.
Tej: Likin kisi ko toh jaana padega, yeh matter apne aap resolve hone wale mein se nahi hain.
After giving it a thought, Shivaay said...
Shivaay: I'll go
