Chapter 5
Dream
"Come on Emma get in to bed" my mommy said to my 11 year old self
"But I don't want to go to bed, I'm a big girl" I said trying to cover up a yawn
My mommy smirks "was that a yawn young lady"
I shake my head biting my lip something I do when I know I'm wrong.
"I think you did" she said
"No I never mommy" I said
"Emma if you don't get into bed I won't sing tonight" she said making me sprint to the bed faster than ever.
My mommy's a great singer she has a beautiful voice it helps me sleep.
I quickly climb under the cover and rest my head on the pillow looking up at my mummy shaking her head as she smiles.
She walks over to my bed sitting on the edge "you ready baby girl"
I nod my little head looking at my mommy's face.
"Constant as the stars above
Always know that you are loved
And my love shining in you
Will help you make your dreams come true
Will help your dreams come true"
I close my eyes
"The lamb lies down and rests it head
On its mother's downy bed
Dolphin plays in the moonlight's glow
And butterfly dreams of a violet rose
Dreams of a violet rose"
I smile slowly drifting
"I'll cradle you in my arms tonight
As sun embraces the moonlight
The clouds will carry us off tonight
Our dreams will run deep like the sea
Our dreams will run deep like the sea"
"Constant as the stars above
Always know that you are loved
And my love shining in you
Will help you make your dreams come true
Will help your dreams come true"
As my mommy finished the song I feel sleep begins to take over me.
I feel a kiss upon on my head and mommy tucking me in whispering 'I love you baby girl
Dream over
I wake up smiling at my dream its strange how I know the words to that lullaby since I was 7.
It was a lullaby my mother only sung to me when I was good. Most of the time she would read me a book.
Its wired thinking she's not here anymore.
