(TW: Homophobic slurs)

-Steve's perspective-

Eddie seemed to be taking the whole "we know about supernatural creatures that take people and make things worse for those around us and have been for years" thing pretty well.

I mean... he was silent during the whole explanation and didn't make any faces but stared at Henderson intently.

Once Henderson caught Munson up on what could fill 3 seasons worth of a show of information, the curly haired man sighed and leaned back on the pile of boxes he was sitting on.

"If I hadn't experienced what I did I'd think you guys were crazy."

I nodded my head "Yeah. It's what I thought at first as well."

Eddie sighed "What could we do to help me though?"

Dustin shrugged "get to the bottom of it so it doesn't kill more people."

Eddie nodded and started to scrunch his hair anxiously "how can I help?"

Robin sighed and handed him a bat "can't exactly help at the moment...due to being a fugitive...but you can hide while we get to the bottom of this."

Eddie took the bat from Robin's hands and nodded.

I dusted myself off and looked over to Robin and the gang. "Let's go shall we?"

Robin nodded and started to head out.

"Wait." Dustin cuts in "I'm staying with Eddie."

"What? Are you crazy?" I glare at Dustin trying to look as intimidating as I can.

"He's going to need someone to stay as a lookout. I'll be safe. I promise."

"You better be, Henderson. Keep your walkie-talkie with you. Anything fishy happens, let us know."

"God you're worse than my mother!" Dustin says before plopping onto the ground.

I scoffed and lifted my walkie-talkie "someone has to be."

While I walked out of the shed Robin looked to me "are you sure it's okay to leave Dustin with him?"

I shook my head "I don't think anyone can stop him though."

As I got into the car I couldn't help but feel worried.

Max sighed "he'll be fine. Let's go."

Eddie... you better protect that kid.

-Eddie's perspective-

I couldn't help but feel anxious about Dustin being here with me. It felt off. The whole town must be after me... if they knew Dustin knew where I was he'd be in serious trouble.

"Look man, you don't have to stay with me. If you change your mind you can leave whenever."

Dustin shook his head before looking down "nice try man but I'm not going anywhere."

Dustin was always the friend I could rely on to have my side... I just...

Why now Dustin? When you could get into so much trouble or harmed?

"You could get hurt" I say while slouching lower and lower onto the wall.

"It's worth the risk." Dustin says before pulling down his hat "I've done things way scarier than being on lookout. I'll be fine."

I looked around. There wasn't exactly anything to keep someone from dying of boredom.

"You got a girlfriend, right?" Anything to stop the silence. Even someone being mushy.

"Yeah... you remembered that?"

I nodded my head "Don't remember anything about her though."

Dustin lit up "she's a genius."

"Really?"

"Yeah man! She hacked into the schools computer and changed my-"

I lifted an eyebrow. Is he going to say change his grades?

"Changed my school's menu..." he laughs and pulls his cap down.

Mhm...

"That's cool dude! Can I meet her?"

Dustin shook his head "not at the moment... she lives in Utah."

"Damn, that's far away dude."

"Yeah... I know."

"That...must be hard."

He nodded and slouched against the wall with me "yeah... sometimes."

"Well... if you ever need someone... I'm here for you. Okay?"

"Thanks man."

I heard a knock on the door so I got up to open it.

To my surprise, Dustin just sat there and let me.

"Steve? What are you doing here?"

"I had to come back to say a few things." He closed the door behind him.

I laughed awkwardly "okay? What is it?"

"I know what you are, Munson. You're a coward. A coward. You ran away from Chrissy. You left her there to die. You're a monster."

"Steve... why are you saying this I thought..." I back up.

"Your father was right. You are useless. No one would ever want you. I would never want you. I was drunk, Munson. I think you're a freak."

"Steve... stop." I say trying to get him from getting closer to me.

Why isn't Dustin helping me? He's just...sitting there. Letting me get insulted.

"You're a faggot, Munson. You're going to go to hell Munson!" Steve's eyes slowly turned white.

"What the hell is going on???!"

Dustin slowly got behind Steve "No one would want you, Munson. Not even me. You're a freak. You're a FREAK."

They slowly got closer and closer. The noise was too much. They were so loud.

"FREAK. FREAK. FREAK. FREAK."

They wouldn't stop.

"Please stop... please." I tried covering my ears but they were so loud.

As I looked up there was more people surrounding me. My uncle...my band...

"FREAK! FREAK! FREAK! FREAK!"

Why is everything red? Why are they doing this? Why are they being... so... cruel?

Maybe this is what I deserve.
