"How do I look, Eve?" Eddie smiled as he straightened out his old denim jacket. I couldn't help but remember the first time I saw that jacket in Senior Chem. Even back then I knew it fit him well.

"You look great, Eddie!" I softly smiled before slipping my hand into his.

I couldn't help but be worried. It's his first day back since being accused of murder. Not everyone's going to be on his side. Especially not anyone who was a fan of the basketball team.

We were currently on the road to school. The windows were rolled down so Eddie's hair kept whipping into his face. I would roll them up, but he specifically asked to have them down as he practically stuck his head out the window.

Out of the corner of my eye, I see him start to roll up the window with his free hand. I couldn't help but be confused. "Why'd you roll it up...you were having so much fun, Eds..."

Eddie softly sighed before grabbing into my hand tighter. "As much fun as this is, Stevie boy...I miss driving. I know it's only been like 4 weeks...but I miss being able to just...go somewhere."

He was right. I mean he couldn't go anywhere now without someone to accompany him. It must be a huge bummer.

I looked down at the radio's upper right hand corner at the digital clock. We had enough time....What I was about to do...was probably the dumbest thing I could do. Do not try this at home type of dumb...but it would be something good to remember this day by...and...that's what mattered.

I slowly started to turn the wheel onto an unpaved side road with a soft smile. He had no idea.

"Steve...why are you slowing down..?" Eddie squeezed onto my hand slightly.

"I'm going to let you drive."

"You're insane! No. I wouldn't be able to see, Steve! You have to know that."

"I do! That's why we're on a side road! Come onnnn...you know you want to. At least one more time..." I nudged my elbow into his arm lightly with a large smile.

Eddie stayed silent with a straight face while shaking his head.

"Oh come onnnnn it'll be fun you know it will be Eddie...I'll make sure everything runs smoothly. Anything comes up, I'll yell out directions."

"Fine... but you HAVE to yell out directions. No getting distracted, alright?" Eddie's eyebrows weave together before turning his head in my direction.

"Okay! I will! Now come on let me guide you to the driver's seat." I quickly got out of my side of the car to open up Eddie's before bowing. "My liege."

"I can't believe I'm doing this...you're supposed to be the reasonable one. Where's mom Steve? Did she die?" Eddie stumbled to grab onto my hand as he got out of the car. "I mean come on I should be the one for this idea."

I lightly shrugged before grabbing onto his hand and walking forward. "I don't know. She must be on vacation or something."

It was the end of his second week of physical therapy. He was able to walk...but only with a crutch. He made phenomenal progress during those two weeks. I honestly think he practiced in his room when I wasn't there.

I guided Eddie into the driver's seat before shutting the door for him and quickly running over to the passenger's side. "You know where everything is still, Right Munson?"
