"Sometimes you need to
Give up on people,
Not because you don't care
But because they don't"

I woke up via the stupid, blaring, annoying yet amazing music alarm which was blasting through my very new iPhone 14 which was covered in a very beautiful baby blue phone case which the initials of A.A.K. I turned off the very melodious music of Anne Marie as I groggily looked at the time. My eyes widened comically when I saw the time on my phone.

5.30 in the dang morning.

Why the fudge did I set up a time for this early on a Sunday morning? Surely, I am not mental. Or am I? I would never know. Why the heck am I rambling in my head? I only do that when I am nervous. Am I nervous? Why? I don't remember any impo–

As soon as  I glanced at the lavender calendar from my desk, I hastily moved from my beautiful bed to my terribly big closet which was too elegant for my liking. I quickly picked a formal outfit before heading to my big and spacious washroom so I could be ready for the day. As I was shampooing my hair, only one thought was running through my mind:

Today my dad's brothers and their wives, as well as children, are coming. Even his parents are coming. Dang, I am nervous as heck. I hope they like me. At least they had their flight delayed giving me more time to process this information. Oh my god! I have some cousins and siblings. Hopefully also a sister! Being surrounded by males can be exhausting.

Okay... maybe it was multiple thoughts.

As I was curling my deep red hair and looking straight into my deep blue eyes, there was a knock on the door. After I said a quick 'come in' the door opened and in came my mother. She smiled and said, "You look very beautiful darling." I thanked her as I looked down at my elegantly formal outfit. It was a cream-colored coat and formal pants (I don't know what they are actually called), with a black shirt. To pair I wore some pearl earrings and a matching necklace.  For makeup, I didn't do anything but a simple eyeliner, some mascara, and lipgloss. I took my phone and headed downstairs to see my brothers and dad seating in the dining room. I hugged them and sat to eat the heavenly baked good also known as a croissant with some chocolate in the middle (in amateur language) or pain au chocolat (in expert/legend language)

"So, Dad, I was wondering about all my uncles and aunties. Can you tell me a bit about them?" I asked after swallowing my last bite of the second croissant.
