Luke.

After six hours in the OR, he accepted the lungs and was breathing on his own.

We brought him back to ICU where he would likely stay for the next few weeks to recover.

Harry was over the moon happy.
His mom wouldn't stop crying happy tears.

I went into Montana's room to tell her the good news, seeing Calum holding her, both of them on the ground, asleep.

I thanked God that Calum wasn't actually working tonight and was just here for support.

I decided to let them sleep.

Three hours later, Austin was awake.
He was perfect.

He could breathe on his own, he was able to take baby steps.

He could remember everything.

He was the ideal transplant recovery patient.

Just after his mom hugged him and kissed his face more times than we could count, he looked to me

"Where's my girl?" He asked with a firm smile.

"I'll go get her."

I full sprinted to her room, seeing her and Calum still sleeping.

"Montana" I spoke loudly, which startled them both, but did the job.

"I have someone that would love to speak with you"

We couldn't stop her from full sprinting through the hospital, we just had the job of keeping up.

She ran into the room and it's like for a moment, everyone in the hospital watched.

She hugged him gently, but yet she was sobbing as she did.

He hugged her back, kissing her shoulder multiple times.

His mom took pictures, nurses cried, Harry and I tried to hold it together.

They pulled away, him still holding her face in his hands.

"I love you" he spoke, making Harry laugh lightly

"I love you too, baby."
