A Perfect Replacement

Part 1

Hi everyone! 😊 Going through a little rough phase..so wrote this down to lighten myself..

Was he trying to replace me?"

Lan Zhan  wondered as he kept thinking about the identical name he had seen just moments ago in his cell phone on social media.

But merely an identical name-just cannot produce-cannot make a same person-or for that matter a same vampire--!" his lips curved up in a brooding smile .

"Can someone else replace him?--just because of a name-? Would that Lan Zhan bear the same feelings that he did ? Can relationships be so easily replaced ? Was that possible?"

Was he sad? - Lan Wangji wondered again for the umpteenth time.

He turned at the sound of glass clinking. His thoughts broke.

"Are you disturbed--?" Landen asked his friend bending forward little toward him.

Lan Zhan stared at his face for some time concentrating and then said "No.-" and  sighed. "why should I? There is no reason"

"Jealous--?" Landen watched his face.

Lan Zhan shook his head in disapproval.

"I don't think so--
had i felt bad? Am I mournful ? Maybe--" he shook his head in utter dispair.

"If you ask---- my answer will be --  well Yes & No-

"I don't understand!" Landen was confused. His vampire friend's ironic reply worried him even further.

Lan Wangji began as if he was speaking to himself-- " I can't say that whether I am feeling bad because he had found a replacement- or whether the thought that he is trying to move forward is troubling me --or that it makes me remember those days we had together-- Which one hurts more I don't know..!"  Lan Zhan paused and Landen could well understand Wangji was depressed. He was upset.

Lan Zhan went on this time even without Landen asking anything further.

"those days we both were enough for each other. For  Wei Ying --- his life revolved around me. So many wonderful moments--- passionate nights-- words of togetherness, so many promises ...

But--I was prepared Landen- I knew this was coming...

I knew the day wasn't far when Wei Ying will forget me completely. Afteral he is a human. I will be erased from his life. Whether it's him -or" he shrugged  " whether it's the circumstances--this was to happen someday--and could I decline I  wanted the same for him? "

"I am wandering in a cold mountain where I have lost my way back home. Landen--should I feel happy at the fact- because it tells somewhere my name still means something to Wei Ying? That maybe he  remembers me? " he exhaleda long breath.

"Landen-perhaps I am the one who is always incapable of holding relations --"

Wangji arose, running his hands through his messy hair and Landen saw well him leaving beyond nothing. Each of Wei Ying's memories were being nurtured within him, he had all of them inside his heart.

And this memories might one day burn him... as well have him perish...

And Landen dreaded that day!

Landen called him but by then Lan Zhan was far in his thoughts--emersed in his own world--a world where Wei Ying still mattered--- very much in fact.

He was lost in his wanderings where his every thought--- every pleasure --- every joy--- and longing, his each and every wanting-- only had one person in their existence -- and-- that was Wei ! -- Lan Zhan's --- Wei !
