Wang Mansion-

Lan Wangji closed his eyes, letting the drops of water from the shower pelt his body, trying to get rid of the insane jealousy that had gripped him ever since he had seen Wei Ying and Huan that afternoon...when Wei Ying had laughed and kissed him on the cheek in the library.

He didn't know what he'd expected from Wei Ying ...but it had made him wish very badly he hadn't stopped in the classroom...had marked Wei Ying as his.

He'd left college early, not wanting to watch them giggle and talk in the canteen and walk arm in arm with each other.

Well if Wei Ying was trying to make him jealous- but no. Wei had sincerely seemed happy. Wangji scowled. And he'd thought here Huan had outgrown his infatuation with Wei Ying.

But he didn't know why he couldn't bring himself to be happy for Wei Ying.

Unbidden thoughts crept in his head that Wuxian would have understood. She would have understood exactly how he was feeling, because he'd done the same thing to her, hadn't he? Completely neglected her feelings, so wrapped up had he been in himself. Maybe Karma caught up with vampires, too.

He turned off the shower and dressed, watching himself in the mirror and seeing the paleness of his skin contrasting with the black of his shirt. He could still smell Wei Ying's scent on him, alluring and dangerously addictive.

Why couldn't he get Wei out of his system? Even when he was trying not to think about him , his senses conspired against him, forcing him to think about Wei Ying ...

He parted from Wei Ying for more than two years to keep Wei Ying safe. He even erased his memories but nothing could stop Wei Ying from running towards him.

Wei Ying was making things more hard for Wangji and now Lan Wangji knew he was in love with Wei Ying way more than he was before.

He walked out of the bathroom and picked up his phone, his eyes widening as he checked the time. Damn! It was already half-past eight- and he hadn't gone to the office to check on. He dialed his number.

The sound of another phone ringing near caused him to turn around.

Wei Ying was standing on the threshold of the room, a half smile flickering uncertainly on his face. Three thoughts flew past Wangji's head in the same moment. The first one was : "he's safe, thank god he's all right." Shortly followed by : "What is he doing here?" and "No wonder I could smell him . If only I'd taken this option into account."

"Hi," he said, uncertain as to what Wei Ying wanted. "What are you doing here?" He did his best to sound non committal.

" just came to see you," Wei said, looking ill at ease himself. "Can I come in?"

"Yeah, no problem," he said.

Wei Ying entered the room, looking as though he wanted to say something.

"Is something wrong?" he asked. "Wei ? What's the matter?"

"I just wanted to meet you," Wei Ying hesitated. "I mean...no offence, but you really need to talk to someone. It isn't healthy for you to -"

Something snapped in Wangji just then. "Oh, so you're finally free, are you?"

Wei's eyes widened . "What are you talking about? I had to go to office, and I came to see you directly after..."
