Is there still a Chance?

How would he know what was he thinking? What was going in Wei Ying's life if not had the phone accidentally was pressed and his hands went to his Weibo account. He would in no way have known about the "new Lan Zhan " Wei Ying had picked as his substitute.

And the moment he came to know about it--- since then he had been thinking a lot. A lot about Wei ---about their relationship that he had not thought in a long time.

Ever since their parting ways, he had completely erased himself from Wei Ying's life. He had not allowed his  thoughts to ripple any kind of emotion in him.

How cruel of him.

Although Lan Zhan was not sure-- whether he was successful to get  rid himself of those memories completely, as every day "Wei " the mere name popped in his mind in a way or the other, exploding with millions of colours....colours that always warmed his heart. Made him smile.

Few days back as he sat to think ----there was no feeling. There was nothing that bothered him and he was sure there could ever be nothing again.

At that time, for a moment he was scared--how could he think like that? How could he be so unfeeling? Or had he really at last become heartless in true sense ?

But that was momentary. He accepted himself and the way he was now, without trying to fight it unlike before.

His mind was far stronger than it used to be in those days when he had put his first step in Lotus Pier and was constantly in turmoil between his own head and heart.

Yet now after all those uncertainty, he was surprised to see-- he was wrong.

Completely wrong.

He could not understand himself--

Now the more Wei Ying's thoughts invaded his mind, the more he experienced emotions from all range, from anger to hurt -- to pride--- to determination and at last acceptance----; he felt all and understood well that nothing was forgotten. Nor abandoned.

He still remembers every single thing about Wei ! His bright eyes, mischievous smile. Everything. Only he could not bring himself to go and ask his 'life' if he felt the same--?

The reason was not lack of courage--but more about pride!

Yes- Lan Zhan's pride and that was too big!

A little too big to mend broken ties.

Although he still could have taken a step forward --but how would he know if  Wei Ying too want the same ?

For all he knew -- he must be hating him for never looking back--or giving him a chance to explain things.

The blue piece of paper, with sweet smell that faintly emitted Wei Ying's intoxicating scent , lying on the table, was the proof of how cold Lan Wangji could be.

The name 'Wei -' still gleamed below the blue sheet.

That was a letter from 9 months ago-- from Wei Ying, written to him which Lan Zhan never bothered to reply.

Was that because unlike other people he did not give any explanation instead of a short & simple-"We need to talk--?" responce--?!

Lan Zhan clicked the mouse and the page opened where he could once again see the proud identical name -'Lan Zhan --' flashing in Wei Ying's Weibo friend list.
